ny92mike
Gotham Gashslayers Game Plan delivered at 9/09/2018 at 11:26 AM@pheltzbahr OFFENSE - 3 WR/TE/RB We plan on coming out in our 3 wide offense with Stafford looking to exploit mismatches with our weapons. -We will employ a balanced offensive game plan, looking to score early and often. We expect the Jazz to focus on the run early, so we will employ play action frequently in the first half, freezing their subpar linebackers and hitting short to intermediate routes with Landry and Eifert on quick slants and seem routes. -Sanders and Thomas will line up wide, spreading the field for Henry to get to the soft second level of Louisiana’s D. Stafford will look to take advantage of one on ones and spread the ball around the field. We like Stafford to take deep shots often to Thomas and Sanders, again with the goal being to keep the safeties honest and prevent them from creeping up to support against the run. -With a strong run blocking O Line, once we see the Jizz leaning back to respect the deep ball, we will start pounding the rock more frequently on first and second down with Henry dispensing punishment. Henry will get spelled on a few series and we will give some run to Kerryon Johnson and Rashad Penny. Tl;Dr - Spread the ball around, mix it up, keep Jizz off balance DEFENSE - 34 Hybrid Nickel We come out in our base 34 Hybrid nickel to contain Brady and friends. We expect our defense to frustrate and harrass Brady and to limit Zeke’s effectiveness. -The key to stopping Brady’s success is through pressure and hits. Against a Jazz O line that was cobbled together in the past couple weeks, we don’t expect them to be an effective group in general. Watt, Wilkerson and Quinn should easily win 1 on 1 schemes in pass rushing situations, while we have Logan occupying 2 bodies in the middle. -Elliot had tremendous success 2 years ago playing behind an all time Dallas O Line, last year, not so much. Translating his success to the O Line Lousyana has put in front of him will not equal success against my front 7. McKinney will man the middle, looking to clean up Zeke and shadowing him throughout the game. -With the best CB trio in the league, we will play mostly man in this matchup. We will play sides on the perimeter with Rhodes and Norman, as they both can handle Louisiana’s outside receivers. Howard will draw duties covering the slot, while Cunningham covers Ertz. -Justin Thomas will play centerfield, charged with not letting anyone get behind him, while Geathers will offer support over the top of Ertz and creep up in run support mode as well. Tl;Dr - Stop Brady Louisiana JazzGame Plan delivered at 9/09/2018 at 6:57 AM@WFLukic Offense: This week’s offensive gameplan is about working the middle of the field and taking advantage of a Gotham team that isn’t particularly deep defensively and has some weaknesses that can be exploited in the back 7. Firstly, it’ll be a healthy dose of the running game to keep the Gotham front 7 tiring. This isn’t 2014 so Watt and Wilkerson don’t scare us and we’re happy to keep them working hard against the run and tiring them out for the passing game. Elliott will get the bulk of the carries, with Morris largely operating to spell him and White getting some 3rd down work to help out in the passing game and in pass-pro. The focus of course will be the passing game in this matchup. If we can neutralise Watt, we aren’t overly concerned by the rest of Gotham’s pass-rushing arsenal and Brady should have ample time to pick apart a D that is lacking experience in the secondary. In particular, we want to target the middle of the field. Watkins and Thomas will work the outside of the field, with Watkins primarily acting as our field stretcher and drawing safety help over the top. Thomas we suspect will go one on one with Rhodes, which is a pretty fair match-up so we don’t expect a huge game out of him but he’ll still get his. The key is how we’ll heavily lean up Baldwin and Ertz against a LB group missing Reuben Foster and a safety group lacking experience with Chancellor unavailable. With an effective short-passing game over the middle of the field and a run game able to churn out yards with Elliott, we figure to control the clock and keep the game on our terms. Defense: On D this team has been built with a very clear structure. It’s all about being relentless with the pass-rush and confident in our coverage in the secondary. With a deep rotation where we hope no DLman will play more than 75% of the game’s snaps, we feel as though we can get after the QB on a consistent basis through being able rush at basically 100% on every snap for the whole game, especially given our CBs ability to shutdown receivers for extended periods. In terms of specific assignments, Gilmore will take Thomas, Fuller on Sanders and CHJ will take Landry in the slot in 3 decent matchups. Chung will be assigned Eifert for most plays he’s on the field, while Hyde will play a little deeper. Additionally, when we opt to go with 3 safety sets, Stewart will be our centre-fielder and Chung & Hyde will operate closer to the LOS. For our LBs, Barr will have more freedom to get at the LOS and rush the QB, while Trevathan will play more passively and assist in run-support and in coverage against the backs, primarily Penny & Thompson we expect. ny92mike
Gotham Vs. Jazz Gotham’s game plan to use play action in the first half believing the Jazz intends to slow the running game early back fires as the Jazz tee off with a relentless pass rush. Expect Stafford to take face sacks, hurries and potentially turnovers the first half. I think Jazz can give Brady the time he needs to find his targets over the middle and to stretch the field, but these deep throws in a backfield of Rhodes, Howard and Norman will lead to turnovers. Brady wins the season opener.
DingoLadd
I was waiting to see how Stafford did before deciding the outcome, Stafford's play sank this for me. Gotham is a very scary team with a ferocious defense, solid weapons running game etc. But they need Wentz back bad if Stafford keeps playing like that.... This is a close game because of Gotham's defense but despite a very good performance from his supporting cast, Stafford isn't gonna pull out the W here. 20-10 The Jizz. TedLavie
I think the Jizz can attack Howard and Cunningham with success. Their interior OL isn't very good but fortunately for them Gotham DL is not as good as it was a couple of years back, so I expect average success for Zeke. On the other hand while I like Gotham plan on offense, it relies a lot on Stafford getting it done. While I'm usually not factoring too much what happened IRL, it's hard to look past his performance in MNF. Chris Harris covering Landry limits Gotham best option on offense as well. Louisiana wins 31-

Hockey5djh
Play action hurts Gotham here. Jizz focused on the pass and Derrick Henry ain't scary. Brady and Zeke should score enough to take the W
Xmad
I think gotham wins this game at home but with the Jazz focused on stopping the pass, Landry going up against CHJ, Stafford sucking and a limited effort from Henry it's not gonna be enough for them on offense. Defense keeps this game close but Brady makes a few more plays to win it. 10-13 Jazz.
Jlash
I think both secondaries are more talented than their counter parts, so it comes down to two things for me. Run game, and QB play in a close game. I can't rightfully give those to Gotham in this matchup. Jizz.
PR
I think it is precarious for both teams they are only rolling 4 active corners (Vontae was inactive) against teams that can go five wide, but that is just a me thing. Rolling with Brady here.
