2019 Draft Discussion

If Gute gives up 12 it better be for a 2020 first rounder or I'm starting the fire Gute thread. We need difference makers and one will be there at 12. We had a Ed Reed caliber Safety staring Us in the face and passed on him.

I'm far too selfish to draft Simmons

What if Gute went crazy and went Wilkins / Simmons or Simmons / Tillery

I  want crazy. Two top bigs is my dream draft tbh.  Not sure OL will be there for us.

(Also after McGinn's prediction, I am warming up to Thornhill and can see that fit. I misread Thornhill considerably.)

Eh, they're the two I don't hit in my full body or half body days.  It was either run for 4 miles or do those and run for two, and I was feeling lazy today.

I think one of us doing the wrong exercise or is not using proper technique

If Adderly, CGJ and Savage are gone I still don't want Thornhill at 30

I know @Cadmus wants to double-dip on EDGE, and I agree. I also wouldn't mind double-dipping on IDL in this class.

This is a class where if you come away for 4 front 7 guys on defense, you're probably going to hit on at least 1.5 of them.

4 picks - Defense Front 7

1-2 picks - Safety

1-2 picks - TE

1-1.5 picks - WR

0-1 pick - OL

0-1 pick - CB

0-0.5 pick - RB, FB, QB

0 pick - K, P

Maybe I'm confused but are you comparing reed to Derwin James?

Not too fussed now as long as its not yet another all-defence draft.

Could live with both first rounders being defence as long as its all offence from there on in (barring the 6th/7th round when who cares draft a load of kickers there and see if one can replace Crosby and save us some money). In an ideal world though if the right players fell into the right spot , I would want either a TE/WR (preferably TE) and a projected Bulaga replacement in the first two days.

As I read it Thornhill is more reliable than the other three. He's played a lot of corner, only one year at safety. McGinn could be right but maybe they target him at 44 instead.... They say the 2nd  will have a run on WR, then OL, then Safety. I can see that; seems likliest the safety run will be at least after OL with the premium there and a poor draft class next year. So, Thornhill @ 44? Sure.

Honestly, if the Pack take any of those four early, I'm happy. I only don't want another "great athlete". We have enough draft capital to get low risk guys the coaches and FO likes. They will not be reaching like they were forced to in some years past (esp at DL).

NFLN saying "Sweat saw a specialist, and he was misdiagnosed at the combine".  Specifically when they said he had hypertropic cardiomyopathy, diagnosed by measuring a thickening of some tissue around the heart, they measured incorrectly.
