The Mariners lost in the ALDS, the Patriots lost in the SB and hockey I forget the year but the Red Wings lost in the cup final to the Devols (swept?). I believe the Red Wings season was the season after that one, but yes you're right (the season that they were swept by the Devils was a strike shortened season - the following year I believe they won over 60 games, but lost to the Avs in the western conference finals).
