Where You Was Right/Where You Was Wrong

Where I was right:
I thought the Saints would start out 3-1

Where I was wrong:
I thought their loss would be to the Falcons, not the Buccs. And not narrowly escaping the Browns.
I also thought their defense would be a top 10 after last season's success. Oops.....

I was right on:

- Patrick Mahomes. I wanted him in 2016, was really upset he went 10. I'm happy with Deshaun Watson, but knew Mahomes would do his part to dispel the notion of spread QBs in the NFL.

- Adrian Peterson. Ol' APeterson_Texan knew the old man had some juice left in the tank.

- Andrew Luck. What he lacks in arm strength he more than makes up for with his football IQ and instincts. He's going to be very good for a very long time.

I was wrong on:

- Mike Vrabel. I thought he was in over his head as a DC, let alone the HC of the Titans. He's dealt with adversity early on, but is leading the Titans to do something really special.

- The LA Rams. Really had a "dream team" vibe to them, thought they'd collapse from within. They're a cohesive unit, all in on what Sean McVay is selling.

- Julie'n Davenport. I thought he was found money at LT, a 4th round pick with 1st round talent, a guy who would have been a top 20 selection if he went to a Power 5 school. Turns out...he's just bad.

- Senio Kelemete. His Saints teammates made comments of Kelemete as the team MVP. As of now, he's probably the worst OL on a team full of really bad OL.

- Tyrann Mathieu. He was supposed to be the vocal and physical leader of a Texans secondary that needed to take some big strides this season. Mathieu started off well with a pick and fumble recovery vs New England, but he's been on the side of a milk carton for the last few weeks. In sure he's yelling and screaming a lot, but he's gotta make plays...or that yelling is just noise out of his food hole.

Right - The Rams were going to win the NFCW easily. I said injuries is the only thing that can hurt the Rams chances of success.

Wrong - I thought the Chargers would finally put things together and make a run to the Superbowl. They have again stumbled out of the gates. They looked bad defensively against a C.J Beathard led Niners offense. No excuses even without Bosa to look that bad against the Niners without Jimmy G. Bosa will be out for awhile so I dont trust their defense to look good. The offense is good but again the Chargers dont look like a Superbowl team. They once again look like a team that will need to fight just to barely make the playoffs.

Right - I said the Eagles would start off slowly. I thought Wentz would miss a few games and so would Alshon. I didnt have trust in Foles at all. I thought the Eagles would get things going as the season goes on so we shall see about that but as of now its not shocking to me that the Eagles have started off slowly.

Wrong - I thought the Chiefs would miss the playoffs. I thought the defense would be bad (which it is), but I thought Mahomes would be great in spots but also turn the ball over alot by taking too many chances. He is flat out flawless right now. The Chiefs look like at least an AFCCG team.

Right - The Vikings will get a wildcard spot if not miss the playoffs completely. I said it wasnt a lock for them to make the playoffs. I thought they wouldnt win the division and they would get one of the wildcard spots. I also said it wouldnt surprise me if they miss the playoffs completely. They are struggling and if they lose Week 5 at Philly, its going to be tough for them in a tough NFC to make the playoffs.

Wrong - I thought the Falcons would win the NFCS. Now I know they are dealing with a ton of injuries but they still had chances to beat the Eagles, Saints, and Bengals but didnt make that one play to win the game. Its going to be tough for them moving forward because the injuries are still piling up for them on the defense and the NFCS is still as well as their schedule.

Right - I said the Niners were a year away from being serious contenders. Yes they lost McKinnon and Jimmy G which hurt but the defense isnt good and I just felt like the Rams being dominant and the NFC is still tough, it was going to be hard for them this season.

Wrong - I said the Colts would be a playoff contender with Luck back. I missed the boat big time. Luck has had some decent games but not nearly as back. They cant run the football at all. The defense has some bright spots but again Luck isnt back fully to being himself and the Colts arent good.

Right - I am going to end on a positive note, I didnt think Bradford would lose the starting job to Rosen due to injury. I thought he would lose because the team would stink or be out of it then they would turn the keys over to Rosen to get the future started. The Cards stink which I thought they would be better than this but they stink. Bradford is a healthy backup. Now we will see what Rosen can do. He looked good against the Seahawks even though the Cards lost. The future is now for Rosen and the Cards.

I predicted Adam Gase would once again prove he's Belichick Jr by straight up axing a whiny unproductive player. And he did that yesterday by cutting DT Phillips who threw his helmet on the sideline after once again being yanked for a younger, better player in the DT rotation. Buh-buh. Really enjoy seeing malcontents escorted out the door, it's just so satisfying.

Didn't really know jack-squat about Mahomes, other than he was put in at the end of last year at garbage time and the coach must've liked what he saw and felt comfortable trading Alex Smith. I just didn't see this kid coming, his stats are simply shocking. If you are old enough to remember watching Marino's rookie year, he sat on the bench at first because hey, he was a rookie and it was rare for a rookie QB to start after training camp in the old NFL. So he held the clipboard (just like Mahomes). Started later on in his rookie year though (just like Mahomes). Next year he's the starter coming out of training camp for the first time (just like Mahomes), and proceeded to absolutely torch the NFL (just like Mahomes).

Since I don't follow college football much, this new-to-me Mahomes guy is blowing my mind!

Right: Michael Thomas was going to go off, Ravens better than most think, McCaffery making strides, Raiders will suck, JJ Watt would look like JJ Watt

Wrong: I said Browns total 1 win (which is obviously looking OK right now, but it won't last), too low on KC, too high on Houston

1st quarter of the season I want to know what predictions you were right on and what predictions you were wrong on. By the end of the season I want to see if things changed or not.

Right: our D would be bad

Wrong: I said bottom 1/3 f the league in D, but should have said bottom 3

I never made  many other predictions online that I remember, unfortunately I remembered this one, and do so on a weekly basis. It's the worst D the steelers have had since I started watching them and if you go back in history it's probably their worst in over 45 years.

If memory serves:

Right: AP isn't done, he has OL and can produce yards

Wrong : about AP's new team's D, they are much better than I expected .

Right : Nantz would still be drooling over the patriots

Wrong: me for listening and/or watching any partriots game with him calling it.  I hit mute right away, but how does CBS allows this ?

Right: I thought the Browns were going to win a few or more

Wrong: I would have drafted Barkley then Chubb, and then whatever QB, possibly did some trading. The Browns got the right QB and a real CB in Ward, those are 2 solid picks and hats off to the Browns because ethyl are on their way to more wins and making their fans happy once again.

Right: with a rift between Ben and Haley, they would give Haley his walking papers since this is Bens team

Wrong:  I thought the Rudolph draft pick was a waste, but if Ben can't get going and stay going  and play better especially vs decent and better defences, then the idea of drafting another QB starts to makes some sense.

Right : as usual, the refs would make calls that people don't like, fans and coaches included

Wrong: I never saw it being this bad and that RTP is the debacle for the season. It's about as bad as "in the grasp" from the 80's, but unlike that which was removed, this is here to stay. How many years of this bad call are going affect games until they sort it out?

Yeah man its bad. The Steelers really miss Shazier. I thought when he got hurt the Steelers D went crappy. He was the identity of the defense.

Right : The Chargers would deal with the annual injury bug and start slow again.

Wrong: I thought Case Keenum would continue his magic from the Vikings. He looks awful right now.

Right: Jimmy G is no Aaron Rodgers as many niner fans have told me. He's good QB who is made better with Elite Coaches/OC

Wrong: Bears look way better than 6 win team I thought they'd be.

Right: I thought the Rams passing attack would take off

Wrong: the entire AFC West - I thought Chargers would be the best, Raiders/Broncos 2nd, Chiefs last

Right: the Browns - I said they'd make the playoffs, which is not looking good - but it's clearly the best team the Browns have fielded in years. So I'm saying I was right..

Wrong: Vikings - I thought they'd be neck and neck with the Rams all year

Right: Patriots would own the AFC East again

Wrong: Thought Texans would be better
