Mind Character
There's only 2 UFA CBs on the market that could provide quality replacement impact depth 1.) PJ Williams 2.) Bashaud Breeland If we don't sign either, I think Dorsey acquires a CB via trade over drafting one.

sdrawkcab321
So apparently we’re about 5% over next years cap. I don’t see us making any more moves. We’ve gotta carry over as much as we can.

We there are strong indications that Vernon won’t be back next year, I def could see Kirksey being let go, Carrie can be let go next year, I believe Hubbard will be gone next year, I could def see Duke being moved of Hunt is brought back. Yeah if they bring back the entire team next year, I could see where issues could arise but I don’t see that happening. See quite a few guys, who aren’t major role players who have outs in their contract for 2020 i bring on having cap issues. It means you have a team with players worthy of the contracts. I was going off of other reports. But it doesn’t look like they are accounting for dead cap that won’t be there next year.
zelbell
We got $40M in dead cap this season so I think we’ll be fine as far as the cap for next year

Why would we cut a second team all pro G? You trim the fat, not the good meat. Carrie, Hubbard, Duke, Smith, and Kirksey are the most likely candidates imo. That doesn’t include guys like Tretter, Robinson, etc whose contracts are expiring.

He is correct. If you look at Over The Cap, our cap liabilities are about 218.4 Million. 18.8 million of that is Dead Money. That puts our 2019 salary at about 199.6 Million dollars. The 2019 Salary Cap is 188.2 Million. We are about 11.4 million dollars over the salary cap. 37 minutes ago, pnies20 said: Well that’s not good... Its not a bad thing though. We are using carry over money, which we have plenty of to cover the rest, and thats fine, it does not give us cap issues this year, but it is something we need to pay attention to in the future.

Zeitler’s contract was one of the reasons he was involved. They wanted to get rid of it.

Honestly its all about the money and when we need it or when we have a replacement for him. If Vernon takes this team to another level, I see him sticking around for 2 years but unlikely to be re-signed. We don't NEED the money until Garrett or Baker need to be re-signed, but we are going to eventually need it, so its good to have that flexibility.
