Not a huge deal, but a bit weird.  Evidently, we tried to trade him with no takers.

Dorsey signed him last year, so this may have been a Freddie call...

Probably looking for some more athleticism at our #2 TE spot

I liked Fells. He did everything right in the role he was in last year. Doesn’t get separation as a receiver but if a throw was near his hands, he came down with it. Pretty good blocker also. I fear we went cheap here.

I expect TE and LB to do some re-tooling this off-season. We can’t go in with our current TEs behind Njoku. And LB is out Collins, Kirksey next in line to the Greyhound possibly within the next year, and Joe Schobert waiting on an extension. I’m not huge on creating more needs. I’d like to see an upgrade at CB also. We may see a really big roster turnover again this year, though not on the level as last year.

I’m gonna be a huge homer and say I want Jesse James 😍

sign a good TE and take a piece from the Steelers!

No.

He is only good against us because of our poor coverage.

Btw: How does that make you a homer?

Fells was nice, he helped changed the culture. Now that isn’t needed anymore and the spot should be upgraded. Better to cut him now so he can have a chance to find a new team quicker. Always better to cut a guy early than late.
