Sydney Dingos

Gameplan:  Warning, may strain your eyeballs if you read at a slow pace.

Motivation:

  • We're 2-10, we're all tired and want this season to end. Doesn't mean I don't wanna smash Singapore into the turf though.

Sydney Offensive Strategy:

  • We're going to come out running the ball early and often, we'll establish a slow methodical running game and use our RBs/TEs to continue moving the chains via screens+checkdowns and attacking Singapore's vulnerable secondary with our WRs who we feel can make get tons of YAC.
  • David Johnson will be a big piece of the puzzle here as we'll look to use him as a pass catcher/protect out of the backfield to help set up the offense, he'll more or less function as James Conner does for Pittsburgh.

Scheme;

  • Slow paced run first offense that will focus on establishing Johnson+Jones early and often, we'll look to establish a lead in the first half and to win the TOP battle to keep "Mullens" off the field.

Formations;

  • Shotgun, Single Back,2 back sets, I-Formation, 2 TE Sets, Spread, 4 wide, 3 wide etc.

Pass to Run;

  • 45% Pass to 55% Run.

The Passing Strategy:

  • Ben will have the chance to go up against a poor Singapore secondary this week, our main goal will be getting our WRs+TEs the ball early and often , Golden Tate will be our no.1 WR and will operate mostly out of the slot, he will play outside in 2 WR sets and he'll command 8+ targets no matter who covers him. No denying Tate has slumped since moving to Philly but he depends on high volume to be a stat stuffer, he'll get that volume here.
  • Calvin Ridley will be our no.2 WR and with the consistency he has shown for a rookie he should be able to beat whoever Singapore tries to cover him with. John Brown will be our no.3 WR and the main deep threat on offense, Brown will get a few deep shots from Ben so he can take advantage of Singapore's DBs.
  • Mike Williams will be our no.4 WR and will rotate in on 3rd downs and will be featured in the redzone quite a bit, we feel he can win jump-ball situations and make plays down the field with his size so he'll get a deep shot or two. If we feel the need to, Williams could easily take the no.1 WR role if he makes plays early.
  • Jimmy Graham+Vance McDonald will be featured heavily as we will look to use 2 TE sets quite a bit to help in the run game, they'll also command a lot of targets in the passing game as they will be our main redzone weapons and will be featured heavily over the middle of the field as well as be used to help in pass protection and in the running game. If Graham doesn't suit up we won't use 2 TE sets, Graham won't be used as a pass catcher as much with a broken thumb but we will use him on screens and in the running game.
  • David Johnson will be our no.1 RB and will get 65% of the touches and be the bell-cow of our running game, he'll get somewhere north of 20+ touches though we wouldn't mind giving him 30+ if the game-script calls for it.
  • David Johnson will also be heavily featured as a pass catcher out of the backfield and will pass block if needed, we'll also use a TE to chip at the line or pass block to help against a very fierce Singapore pass rush, Johnson playing in my offense will be used a lot better and be given the proper blocking/usage especially now that the Cardinals figured out how to offense.
  • Aaron Jones will get a lot more touches this week, I'd expect he'll get around 10-15 to show off his play-making potential and if he makes big plays early it could lead to a 50-50 split with Johnson.
  • I know my WRs can win their match-ups on the outside and in the slot, we should be able to make plays all game long and give Ben plenty of time to pick apart Singapore's defense using with the slow methodical pace we'll be running this week.

The Running/Blocking Strategy:

  • Some changes to the o-line this week depending on who is healthy, we'll put a focus on running outside this week since we feel we can beat Singapore on the edge along with getting our RBs in space.
  • David Johnson will split touches with Jones+Ekeler but I'd expect he'll get roughly 65% of the touches while our other RBs split touches with him.
  • In the event(s) of an injury, Whitehair shifts to C/G, Feeney plays OG, Iupati plays OT etc. I'll most likely mention who plays where in the comments if not mentioned already.

TDLR:

  • Let Ben work his magic, get David Johnson the ball in space, let our WRs+RBs+TEs take advantage of a Wichita defense that lacks speed on the edge.

Sydney Defensive Strategy:

  • We'll be playing mostly zone coverage this week since Mullens is basically a game manager and without Singapore's best player on offense (hunt) their offense will stutter.

Formations;

  • 4-3, 4-2-5, Goaline, Dime, Cover 3, Cover 2, 2 Deep Safeties etc.

Scheme;

  • Zone coverage for about 60% of the game, mixing in man here and there and our main base defense will be nickel.

Ratios:

  • 60 Zone Coverage to 40% Man Coverage, blitzing on 25% of the snaps, heavy rotations on the d-line with no one playing more than 85% of the snaps.

The Secondary Strategy:

  • Byron Jones will again be the no.1 CB this week and he'll cover Allen with some help over the top on occasion we feel Jones is is more than capable of covering Allen Marcus Peters was recently benched in favor of Donte Jackson who has played very well for a rookie CB, he will man the no.2 CB spot and will be tasked with covering Singapore's no.2 WR, he will of course be given help more often than Jones will be. Corey Davis is a solid BDL no.2 WR but he's still pretty inconsistent which is to be expected given his QB gets stomped by a giant turtle every other year.
  • Logan Ryan is the no.1 CB for the Titans and he'll man the slot this week, In 3 wide Ryan covers the slot with Jackson+Jones manning the outside positions, Peters comes in for 4 wide.
  • Our secondary is the strength of our defense and we feel we can limit Singapore in the passing game since we have the personnel to limit them and keep them from making plays downfield, plus them not having any downfield threat given Allen is a possession guy, Davis isn't a speed demon and Doug Baldwin has one knee. Singapore's no.1 TE hasn't been relevant since draft day, whereas their best RB just got suspended and while they have a fine replacement in Connor he's just not as good.
  • Reshad Jones will be tasked with playing his usual SS role, he'll help cover in the redzone and on 3rd downs other than that he'll play his normal coverage assignments. Sean Davis will play FS and will be the deep center-fielder, however Reshad Jones will be in charge of coverage adjustments since we feel he's more suited to that.
  • If an injury occurs Vonn Bell takes over at S, we'll mostly focus on playing a Cover 2 look in zone, with some man coverage mixed in. However we will of course mix this up with zone blitzes and other coverage.
  • Singapore is probably going to come out throwing early and often so can they let Mullens establish the offense and try and figure out our defense early, we expect this and will counter this by changing our entire gameplan at halftime by not having one for the second half.
  •  Myles Jack+Lavonte David form one of the best LB duos in BDL and should be able to handle the responsibility of covering Singapore's RBs+TEs whenever given that assignment and are more than capable of containing Connor and "Elijah McGuire"

The Front Seven Strategy:

  • Rush the passer, stop the run, get off blocks, do all the things well regarding front seven things.

TDLR;

  • Since no one ever reads this, have a book recommendation. I recommend "In search of lost time" by Marcel Proust. This has been brought to you by Dingo bacon, we're not sure what's in it but we're already too deep in to care.

Special Teams:

  • LaQuan Treadwell will return kicks and punts, Dak Prescott will line up at cheerleader, A cardboard cutout of a Dingo will call the plays on offense.

Sponsorship:

  • The IRS. never skip out on paying taxes on golden statues.

SINGAPORE Week 13

Motivation - Beat Sydney so our first 3rd rounder is higher. Get the younger guys some XP.

Offensive Strategy

Formations: 4 wide/ 11/ 21 / 12 | Scheme:  Run (35%) vs Pass (65%)

Passing Attack
No one believes in Conner as a lead back so we’re going to come out in a 4 wide set for most of the game and just let Carr loose on the deep throws. Our OL is adequate enough to give him time against the Dingo pass rush. We trust Carr’s accuracy this year and that he can accomplish great things with competent receivers.

It’s going to be high tempo, no huddle to deliver some shock and awe. Allen, Baldwin and Davis are comfortable playing both inside and out so they will also constantly be shifting in the formation to confuse the secondary. Moore is primarily our deep ball threat and can high point the ball to win contested catches.

There should always be a mismatch to exploit eventually forcing Sydney into a dime look which will play into our hands in the run game. TD machine Ebron will get work in the  Red zone as usual in more traditional 11 and 21 looks.

Backups Parker, Hamilton and Switzer will also get work this week to keep our receivers fresh and look to tire out the Dingo Secondary and test their fitness.

Running Game
We won’t abandon the run entirely but it will be mostly Conner getting handoffs on quick snaps to get the short yards for first downs after a nice quick out for 8 yards. In the Red zone, he will also get some work to set up the next play for a fade or back shoulder throw to a wide out for they TD.

Another wrinkle to the run game will be lots of Jet Sweeps from our WR’s. One of the receivers will always be in motion, Allen, Davis, and Switzer are all capable of breaking big gains once the Dingo’s switch to a dime to cover our 4 wide sets.

TL;DR: Air Raid. No Huddle. Up Tempo. Passing Clinic. Tire out the secondary by running them to death.

Defensive Strategy

Formations:   4-2-5 (Nickel) / 3-2 Big Dime | Scheme:  Cover 1 / Man with Blitz

Pressure/Run D
Solder and Hubbard have given up 15.5 sacks this year combined so Hunter and Griffen should have a clear path to Big Ben. We are intimately familiar with Ben’s tendencies since he was our former QB. He’s second in the league in INT this year and our excellent DL should close his throwing windows enough to force a few more.

Snacks (PFF’s Best Interior Run Defender) and Donald (PFF’s Best Interior Pass Rusher) have also both found the QB multiple times recently in the backfield. Being able to bring pressure up the middle to collapse the pocket is also huge against Big Ben. Our guys also provide excellent run D to provide no lanes for David Johnson. Our thought is always to stop the run first then make the other team settle for a 3 and out.

Coverage Assignments
With no true No 1 WR on the team our much maligned secondary may actually have a shot this week. Waynes (PFF 35th) will cover Tate and Claiborne (PFF 30th) will cover the Rookie Ridley in press man with help over the top from Bates (PFF’s Best Deep Safety) in a single high look. Desmond King II (PFF’s real Best Slot CB, sorry Chis Harris Jr) hasn’t allowed a TD all year and will continue to blank John Ross. John Johnson III will play a robber role and patrol the middle looking to disrupt the seam routes.

Bostic will have coverage on Graham but if he becomes a favorite target of Ben’s we’ll roll Johnson over to help. Jaylon Smith (PFF’s 8th) is playing out of his mind right now and has proven to be an excellent field general for our defense. He will have the responsibility to contain Johnson on the outside runs and will be an extra blitzer on passing downs up the gut.

TL:DR: Harass Big Ben. Lockdown the run game and win the turnover battle.

Singapore skates by on the fact Mullens was competent this week, plus Allen is a nightmare to defend feel like he should've been given more attention than he was. Plus Signapore's d-line will probably kill Ben in this one.

This game is even. I’d go Sydney if they were playing Mullens (how this team is 2-10 is sort of laughable) but Carr should put up enough production. It’ll be a defensive game and I think Aaron Donald makes the difference here with some huge stops. Elite defensive front for Singapore leads the way.

John Brown. lol

You get a pass given they're more or less as irrelevant this year.
