If he can stay healthy he’s gonna get big money. Hopefully he can stay on the field.

Does it really mean that though? His last 5 seasons he has played:

1-13-8-4-2 for games

Thats 28 out of a possible 80. Roughly 5-6 games a year even with a fully healthy season shouldnt make him trustworthy to stay healthy. He is still good when he plays but he is barely there for a third of the games. He might get paid in a large contract but the guarantees will be super low and incentives very high

I mean yeah it matters... if he plays 16 games this year and dominates he’ll get a solid contract and make some money. I agree the guarantees will be low but it’s better than getting hurt again and retiring.

lol what a waste.  How many 1 year deals are they gonna keep signing him to before they get the hint that he’s not gonna make it through the midway point of the year

When he plays Eifert is one of the better weapons in the NFL. At his price point resigning him to a cheap, incentive-laden contract is a no brainer. We aren’t resigning him with the notion that he’ll play 16 games, or that we’re dependent on him to remain healthy. He’s a bonus. Anything he adds to the offense on any given week is a plus. He’ll likely be on a snap count, doing most of his damage in the redzone. It’s an extremely low-risk, high-reward signing.

If it was a concussion issue it’d agree with you. But it ain’t so I don’t.

Or soft tissue injuries.  It's all like weird broken bones and stuff that doesn't happen to the normal player.

But, it's a recurring thing, so you can't ignore it.

It's probably a good decision to bring him back.  Low risk, high reward.
