UCF all the way boy

this is the last year they're probably ever gonna be relevant in basketball for a while

call me crazy but UCF matches up with Duke pretty well.  Duke cant shoot the three and UCF defends the three really well.  Plus Fall is an inside presence.  If he can stay out of foul trouble he can make an impact.

UCF doesn't have the offensive firepower to beat Duke. They're 313th in adjusted offensive pace and 58th in adjusted offensive efficiency according to KenPom. Paired with the fact that they only have two guards that can score, yeah, they're not knocking off Duke.

UCF probably won't even beat VCU. Duke is 24-1 this season when their 4 freshmen have all played, with the only loss being to Gonzaga, one of the elite offensive teams in college basketball. The only other team that really gave Duke fits was North Carolina, another elite offensive team. AAC teams are crap.

VCU and UCF actually have pretty similar strengths and weaknesses this year.  Both are good defensive teams that struggle to score at times.  VCU is a better defensive team though, they're one of the best defensive teams in the country statistically.  Although the A-10 had a down year so I do think VCU's defensive stats are stronger than they normally would be.  VCU has a really good Center, Marcus Santos Silva (6'8" 250ish) that would be a really interesting matchup against Zion.  I'm sure Zion will get the best of him because his athleticism is otherworldly but it would certainly be an interesting matchup to watch.  The real problem for VCU would be when Zion plays the 4 (which I think he does a lot), VCU doesn't really have a second big with the size and athleticism to keep up.  Our normal starting 4 Sean Mobley is a Stretch 4 that would likely get owned by Zion.  Corey Douglas is our best interior defender besides Santos-Silva, we might have to play him at the 5 and have Santos-Silva at the 4.  But that would really screw up our spacing as neither Douglas or Santos-Sliva are outside shooters.  Michael Gilmore is the tallest guy on the Rams roster (6'10") but he's only 210 lbs and a Stretch 5.

Duke, Va Tech, LSU and MSU

Va Tech has some metrics that could give Duke an issue in the sweet 16.  Would not be surprised in the lower 1/2 of the region went haywire with LSU and MSU losing in round of 32.  Wish some of the better 6-11 seeds were in this region.
