That's the only problem I have with this selection. No we don't. There is a difference between 'stepping in' and not getting Rodgers killed. We have a bunch of warm bodies, no quality depth, until now.

Think it means what I've been saying for a while...Lane Taylor is gone, either this year or next. Guy doesn't fit what LaFleur wants on the OL. I'd have a hard time letting Taylor go. But if it's an instant upgrade I'd be okay with it.

Wasnt my first choice, wanted a WR there, but had heard GB was high on Jenkins.

PossibleCabbage
I think in terms of *need* the Packers needed a guard more than they needed a tackle. Like "who's going to start" is up in the air for both guard spots, whereas you're at least okay for both tackle spots (and re-signing Bulaga and/or Spriggs is defensible.) We're just used to looking at tackles because they historically draft tackles and move them to guard (Colledge, Lang, Sitton, etc.) Edited April 27, 2019 by PossibleCabbage

I don't hate this pick but personally would've liked another position, or hell. I would've preferred Erik McCoy.
festiveonion
So Madison is effectively a camp body at this point yeah?

Packer_ESP
Our IOL collection right now is: Linsley / Turner / Taylor / Jenkins / Madison / Patrick / McCray / Siragusa / Light Which ones fit the new scheme?

Is he better than Sitton or Lang? The answer is clearly NO. We let these guys go so letting Taylor go is not difficult at all.

I get it if its a tackle I guess... ol is always underwhelming but this is so meh its bleh it isn’t really meh, How I see it, outside of Bak and Linsely (knock on wood), 3 spots could change in 2020. Drafting a good OL to start and take over makes a ton of sense. I’d lock him in as starting RG, let RT play itself out (Knowing Bulaga’s body, he will be out by week 5 and we will get a real look st Turner).
