Vince is going all in on the cinematic approach it seems

that sounds like it could be dope if done right. Props for outside of the box thinking though, no matter the outcome. Hard to knock anything tried during these times.

So long as its not like Edge-Orton where guys are walking through halls smashing each others head into a wall every 6 seconds. Ill call it a win.

AEW thoughts.

Cody has really picked up his in ring. When he was in NJPW and ROH he really was the 3 Star General. It was real bad.

I’m sorry but Cornette is right about Janella. Not just about his looks, but his in ring is leagues behind Cody and others. Hardcore wrestling just isn’t big on national wrestling.

I really like Nyla Rose. She’s green as hell but really like her potential.

I also like Shawn Spears. I think he has potential. Not top tier, but a solid mid card. I really enjoyed his promo. He needs to get rid of that stupid Mohawk and needs facial hair.  Dude married Peyton Royce so he’s already won.

Kaz and Mox was fun. I like SCU as singles more. 40 plus year old men acting like clowns isn’t appealing to me.

I like the potential of The Dark Order more than most. Brodie Lee has been doing pretty darn good imo. They can go a lot of different ways. They do need to get away from Uno and Grayson. I’m sorry , Uno just looks awful and can’t take him in a serious roll, the Guy can talk though. The Dark Order needs to get ‘ the stink’ off of them , and idk if they can

MJF was real good.

Archer vs Cody has been real fun so far. Great build. We need a face off before . Jake putting the snake on Brandy was a great touch. I hate snakes and that creeped me out.

Brandy gets so much crap but I think she adds a lot of value and is very versatile ,

Fantastic main event , incredibly fun. Chasing Sammy with the cart was gold. Huge fan of the inner circle.

For me to be a good show on national tv, you need to have quality matches, a continuation of storylines or starting ones out and you can’t be predictable; you shouldn’t be able to know how every segment is going to end. This show had all of that.

I absolutely agree. This show was fun to watch. I'm ok with the directions they chose for Double or Nothing. Cody vs Lance Archer for the TNT Championship was predictable, but makes a lot of sense. They can't chose the wrong winner, as both would be great 1st champions. The Casino Ladder Match could be interesting. I have no idea who could win it. At the moment i would bet on Darby Allin, as he's not having another story going on for the PPV. Moxley vs Brodie Lee is decent. I'm not totally sold on it, as i don't like Brodie Lee to lose out and i don't like Moxley to lose the title, but it is what it is. It will still be an interesting match, that Moxley should win. The only match i'm really not sold on so far is MJF vs Jungle Boy. That comes a bit out of nothing and it was the only thing that bothers me a bit about this episode.

For Double or Nothing i expect a Tag Team Championship Match (if Page is able to be there) or a multi men match between the Elite vs the Inner Circle. Maybe we get a singles match between Matt Hardy vs Chris Jericho. And i think we get Nyla Rose vs Hikaru Shida. Maybe another Tag Team Match, maybe Dustin Rhodes vs Shawn Spears, maybe another Women's Match featuring Britt Baker.

The problem is they have her doing to much. One week she is Cody's doting wife, the next she is some witch cult leader, then a ringside tag manager with a face team. They need to pick a lane and stop flip flopping with her character. It has been better of late.

They dropped the cult leader thing awhile ago.

I actually like her having a little evil side to her.

Im a huge Brandy fan, whatever way they get her on the show is fine with me

Already said it has been better lately but they didnt drop the cult thing voluntarily, circumstances forced their hand. They had her making an appearance with that gimmick and cutting girls hair with Kong and then an hour later she skips to the ring with baby face Cody. It made no sense and they shouldn't have had her doing it. Her character seems more streamlined and she is sticking to the nightmare family manager thing, which is good. Im just worried about the next time she gets in the ring and it contradicts her valet ish. Hopefully they dont let her do that again but who knows.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned it yet. Dynamite beat Raw in the male 18-34 demo this week for the first time ever. It's just a small part of the overall ratings and the demo, but it's still worth mentioning.

Quote

PWTorch.com
AEW Dynamite decisively beat NXT in key demographics. AEW doubled NXT’s male 18-34 rating (0.24 to 0.12). The big headline today is that AEW’s 18-34 male demo actually beat WWE Monday Night Raw this week (0.24 to 0.23). More younger males are watching AEW than Raw, despite AEW going head-to-head with WWE’s NXT program. The combined 18-34 male demo on Wednesday night adding NXT and AEW today is 0.36, easily outdrawing Smackdown’s 0.28 rating in that demo.

Among a broader demographic of males – 18-49, AEW drew a 0.39 rating compared to Raw’s 0.57, so the 35-49 male demo is still watching Raw by a wide margin. Among all adults 18-49, AEW drew a 0.28 rating compared to Raw’s 0.46, nearly a two-to-one margin lead by Raw over AEW. AEW is certainly connecting better with younger men than WWE’s current product, based on the numbers.

The AEW Dynamite overall rating was 0.54 compared to NXT’s 0.53, both ratings within 0.01 of the ratings the last two weeks.

Best show in the pandemic era. Really good Dynamite.

I'm not sure who else was doing this but Britt Baker broadcasting it on her IG story and appearing to actually mark out added a lot to this main event for me

Thats insane. Raw is doing a couple million less than WCW when cancelled, and less than TNA was when they tried going head to head against Raw. Its like 80% of viewers are 40 and over. To where theyve been watching over 30 years out of habit and just dont know what else to do on Monday nights.

If Im CBS or NBC. And see that WWEs billion dollar flagship is beatable in the demo like that. Id toss a multi year deal towards NWA or MLW on the cheap to see how things go. CBS with it on the CW or Paramount network would be killer. And take but a fraction of USA networks billion for Raw to do it.
