When was the last time we saw a guy who was making a good chunk of money and about to be released bring back a draft pick in return? It just doesn't happen. wcblack34
We don't need a draft pick for Rhodes. Him being off of the field is compensation enough. And there's enough film on him for the last two seasons for every other team to know that he is done and isn't worth anything close to his current salary. The linked video mentions that due to the severity of his injuries, he might fall to the latter part of the first round. At the very least, this might push down a player we might not otherwise have a shot at. Do we take the risk, and draft Kirk's successor at 32? https://sports.yahoo.com/alabama-qb-tua-tagovailoa-declares-for-2020-nfl-draft-170848305.html Kirk's performance against the Saints almost certainly cemented an extension with the team. He's our guy for the next 3-5 years. At this point, I see no way the Vikings take a QB in Round 1. Whether this will end up being a good thing, only time will tell.

They likely wouldn't have beaten New Orleans without him. That was probably his best game all year.

He’s always matched up well against bigger receivers. Seems those quicker guys who have the speed to get behind him give him the most trouble. Next up, Emmanuel Sanders. This could get ugly. Yeah, it's not as good a matchup with all of the 49ers smallish receivers, but we'll have to see how they game-plan it. Maybe he'll just have to chuck them off the line. The Vikings corners are physical - let them use that asset at the LOS.

dc_vikingfan
The game against the Saints is exactly why I want this team to draft a DT. Generating inside pressure causes so many problems for offenses and it helps your secondary.
