no. giving yourself up stops the play, we've seen it before where a WR goes down, then hops up and flips the ball to the ref without being touched.

That's what a lot of people are asking. I don't see why it wouldn't work, but it requires smart coaching and players.

No. If you give yourself up the play is over. Not all that different from the qb kneel

I remember maybe 8 or so years ago, a cardinals WR went down, gave up, then left the ball on the field to run back to spike the ball and the defense jumped all over it and the refs said he gave himself up so the play was over and people flipped out. it was big talk for a while.

 

edit: maybe it was against the cards... for some reason Victor Cruz is coming to mind as the WR

win @ Tampa and beat Atlanta and Carolina at home

win 1 game from (NE, @KC, @SD,  @ Baltimore)

 

That's 11-5 or 10-6. I'm not talking about 12 or 13 wins.

Tough, tough loss. Moreso frustrating because the players to be a really good team are on roster, but the coaching is going to ruin everything.

There will be a few 10-6 or 11-5 seasons, a few playoff appearance, but that's the ceiling.

Oh well. Astros winning 15-0.

A. My player of the game is Ryan Ramzcyk who pretty much made JJ Watt invisible.

B. Watson is a monster. If the Texans can find a way to protect him, in my eyes he is easily a Top 10 QB in the NFL.

C. WHAT A KICK!!!

One thing about that Lutz FG.

At 58 it had a good 7 yards extra on it as it hit the wall up pretty high.

That may have been good from 65. (or he overhits a try from 65)

 

This does not take away from how awful the Texans coaching was but Lutz really nailed that ball.

Full disclosure, I despise the Saints - but did anyone else feel like the announcers were talking up the Saints for most of the game. Was very annoying.

They’re playing in New Orleans. Thats pretty typical of the home team.

Nearly any other coach - even a half competent one - this is a SB contender. 

BOB is cranking out 9-7/10-6 division titles out of a 12-4/13-3 team. What should be playoff byes are now 1st round playoff losses. What should be defining wins are heartbreaking losses.

Great, great game - your guys made those big plays when needed, and you walk out with the W. Excellent performance from Brees, he's a legend.

I've gotta say, Watson was nothing more than a typical athletic QB prospect who was gonna wash out after a few seasons in the league to me. And I've been holding my reservation. But this kid is a baller. I'm a believer.
