I’m seeing some people justify Walker’s lack of production because of “what he was asked to do” and it reminds me a ton of Barkevious Mingo’s final year at LSU where his production wasn’t great and the reasoning was “what he was asked to do”

Mingo did not live up to the hype or draft slot. Still carved out a nice career. Just something to think about.

I dont think any kind of Barkevious comp is an endorsement. I think Travon is stronger, more versatile and a better prospect than Barkevious. Additionally given the 30lbs weight difference hes a better athlete and not a comparable prospect.

Mingo yoyod between bad, mediocre and decent seasons from PFF and never produced much - about a dozen sacks total. Yeah he carved out a nice career for a late round pick or UDFA, but pick 6 he carved out an almost all time bust career. I think hes a cautionary tale for prioritising measurables over fb ability, production and intangibles, not the opposite. Credit to his agent though, that dude needs to get me a job I'm underqualified for.

I did not compare them as prospects. I compared the lack of production to the statement "what they were asked to do" as a justification for the lack of production.

I think Hutchinson could be the face of that franchise for a decade

The Lions? I don't want that. I don't want a "solid DE" to be the face of the franchise. The Lions have had other solid DE's. I want a flamethrower off the edge who terrorizes quarterbacks with his speed even when he doesn't get there.

I dont see a Bosa Bros, Von Miller type impact on the edge but I think solid is really underselling. I think Hutchinson can be elite and a terror in his own right, my comparison was a more refined, 25% stronger Maxx Crosby who will absolutely be in the running for most sacks.

Pass rush ability, hands, timing, agility, explosion, short area speed, functional strength and likely intangibles/mindset are all there. Only weakness is length and bend is questionable. Plenty of absolute beasts with less tools so I dont understand your opinion?

Chiefs and Cardinals eyeing the receiver position in the first round?
The belief is that the Kansas City Chiefs will take defensive end Boye Mafe and a receiver with their two selections late in Round 1, but could they use both choices on defensive prospects? The answer is yes, from what I’m told.

If Chris Olave is not available and they can’t trade up for WR Jameson Williams, sources close to the Chiefs tell me Washington cornerback Kyler Gordon is being seriously considered with one of those two picks.

This is a draft full of good players. If you do not want a good player the 2020 draft is not for you.

Thibs is the closest thing to what you ask for, but he is no Bosa, no Myles, et. al. Mebbe Sam Williams until he is arrested for something serious. You could have that.

Karlaftis isn't falling into the second round.  Feel pretty confident on that one.  Think Green Bay is his floor.

I don't think he'd fall past the Bengals either, granted GB will have the first shot at him if he's there.

What buzz are people hearing on Matt Araiza? We’ve not had a day 2 punter since Bryan Anger in 2012 and we’ve not had any kind of specialist on day 2 since Roberto Aguayo in 2016.

I assume the teams that didn’t already know that you should never, ever do that learned their lesson.

Leading up to draft week there was a lot of 3rd round buzz on him. I think he goes in the 4th personally, but wouldn't be surprised at all if he snuck into day 2.

In a draft this deep, as fun as Araiza is, I don't think there is any way he sneaks into day 2. Early day 3 I could definitely see.

Not seeing this being reported anywhere else

I haven't either. Charlie Campbell is normally pretty decent (doesn't spout BS), but there aren't corroborations of this anywhere. Nobody else acting like it is a concern. I'd take this with a grain of salt
