Also, he broke this crap right after I finished my last mock, so I don't want it to be true now. I did find one reporter corroborating potential health issues with Neal: https://theathletic.com/3271314/2022/04/26/giants-nfl-draft-predictions/ Dan Duggan, who is as reliable as a beat reporter out there, makes multiple mentions there towards health issues with Neal. Quote 4. OT Evan Neal: Neal’s visit allowed the Giants to do a deeper dive on his medical concerns. I haven’t been able to ascertain the exact nature of the injury, but the whispers likely explain why Neal didn’t do any athletic testing at the combine or at Alabama’s pro day. Now, maybe he is referencing Campbell's report directly, but it is at least one other source reporting it.

nicfre2011
It seems like character "red flags" are now really being unfurled. This is the one area that is really hard to substantiate. Kayvon Thibodeaux is obviously talked about alot, but this article mentions Jermaine Johnson and Kyle Hamilton. https://walterfootball.com/nflhotpress/article/2022-NFL-Draft-Week-Rumors-Tuesday

We’ve not had a day 2 punter since Bryan Anger in 2012 and we’ve not had any kind of specialist on day 2 since Roberto Aguayo in 2016. And, mind you I like Araiza, I wouldn't expect this year to break either of those trends because I just don't see so much delineation that separates Araiza from other top punters in the class (Stout, Stonehouse... I'm sure some will like the Georgia kid too, but I don't think he has the leg to sustain multiple contracts with the same team in the NFL) to make a team feel the need to go get him and only him. When there are at least three viable guys in the class of note, and that doesn't include others who can certainly make rosters, that screams teams will wait till Day 3 to me. There's too much depth elsewhere in this draft class for even the frivolous teams to be blowing Day 2 picks on specialists.

This doesn't get appreciated as much as it should be. The job of a lot of these guys is to report and relay what they're hearing from sources that have been at least nominally trustworthy in the past (at least enough for the reporter to be able to affect proper CYA ability with regard to the story), but just because it comes from a "source" doesn't make it gospel. That's why I appreciate the guys who are willing to stand on "this is what my source is telling me," and don't get so adamant as to insist "this is what's going to happen" as opposed to "this is what I'm hearing is likely/likeliest." That's why I always have such a go at Matt Miller because the dude allows his ego to affect things and, from what I've observed, has such a high opinion of himself that he believes his sources hold him in such high regard that they wouldn't feed him anything but gospel truth. It's a really dangerous osmosis that very easily leads to mistruths.

I would say: I can see a team spending a second day pick on him, but only because teams do really stupid things sometimes. I've got a few franchises in mind when I say that. But yes, objectively, it would be a big waste to spend a Day 2 selection on a punter. Even a really great one.

It makes no sense to me to use the 4th pick on OL when OL is the only position of true strength on the roster. Drafting Ekwonu means they either have to trade someone good, or bench someone good, all while starting lower caliber players at several other positions. This rumor has been hanging around too long to ignore, but man I just don't get it at all.
Cypher
Vegas odds just keep jumping around. Your new top-8 if Vegas is correct; 1. Travon Walker 2. Aidan Hutchinson 3. Derek Stingley Jr. 4. Kayvon Thibodeaux 5. Ikem Ekwonu 6. Charles Cross 7. Ahmad Gardner 8. Garrett Wilson
