Trojan Posted April 2, 2023 Share Posted April 2, 2023 I like Michael Turk and Christopher Dunn as specialists this year (P and K respectively). Turk is uber powerful and the ball change at Oklahoma dipped his numbers but in the Shrine Bowl with an NFL ball showed out with a nasty 67 yarder. I think Michael Turk is actually worth somewhat significant draft resources to land if your team has an ancient punter or lacks a punter. Turk's strength shows in his hang times and if he can work on pinning a bit more he's a special talent. The upside for him is dumb, and his floor is a booming leg like a punter version of Janikowski. Christopher Dunn would be less of a leg strength and more of a consistent swing technique, great close plant foot placement (outside of a few from the far hash for some reason) and can hit them from distance but it's a work in progress there. He's automatic on extra points and very clutch. I think he's a seventh or UDFA because he needs to retain his motion and all that, but speed it up to avoid blocks and that takes projection to improve. I don't worry about his range as he's hit 52 or 53 or whatever, but the ones you need to make he definitely makes so I really like him. Figured the Carr signing would have ended that possibility of drafting Hooker, but it appears it is still a possibility. Curious if this is the Saints doing their due diligence in the event Hooker starts sliding in the 2nd round. It would surprise me if we used pick 29 and probably even pick 40 on him since we signed Carr. With that said, I think there’s a good chance Hooker ends up better than Levis and Richardson.
