Ngakoue will not sign new deal

Literally insane that we're even talking about that sort of pathetic return for a top tier pass rusher right in his prime.

It's crazy how hard the Jaguars media are working to sort of "soften" the blow of a disappointing return.  As though they know there's a soft market for Yan and are trying to lube the masses up for the unpleasant trade to come.  Lowering expectations.

Even with giving away leverage by making it abundantly and publicly clear that he IS being dealt...how can this sort of thing even be part of the conversation on a guy who has been comfortably a Top-30 Edge rusher (arguably Top-20 imo) every single year he's been in the league, and is still in the prime of his career age-wise?

The thing with Yann is the situation; we know what Yann is. But the rest of the league may know about him but they are not familiar with him as his intangibles on and off the field. Hence the fact you can get a nice return on Ramsey and not a proper return on Yann. The league knows Ramsey’s talent I think for those who do know Yann’s ability to them it’s not worth giving up a 1st rounder for and I believe it comes down to his liability in the run game. I think a lot of teams view Yann maybe in the sense as a lot of people viewed Aldon Smith red flags aside as just a pass rush specialist. We know Yanns worth but does the rest of the league? Which is more telling you would think in a yr where pass rushers are not deep in this draft that they could get something of substance that makes it feel equal.. but Jags are destined to get the short end of this stick.

I'm all for diplomacy but you're not gonna call me out to try to embarrass me and I just shrivel up and stay quiet...

Management is all about not letting your pride get in the way of doing the right thing professionally. Staying quiet was 100% the right play.

The rest of the league should absolutely know about Yan and his value.  I guess i'm often surprised by how little "homework" the management of certain teams (especially out of conference) do on other players around the league.  But it shouldn't be difficult to look into.  Talk to various people around the league who have worked with him, etc.  Get the tape out and just watch what this obviously on the market pass rusher can do.  There's really zero reason for the rest of the league to not be fully aware of what Yan can do.  I mean...we're talking about professional football management here...not just some random fans who don't watch Jaguars games because the team is an irrelevant laughingstock.

Yea I'm not buying this whole they dont know who Yan is thing either. If anything keeping an eye on the bad teams is a good idea since much like teams like the Marlins who are constantly rebuilding and selling off their better players for parts, the good teams need to know their players

Why no?

Ferrell was starting to look better as the year went on, Crosby looks like a potential steal of the draft and we gave Hassib a pretty hefty contract. Our DE group looks decent as is. We also don't have tons of cap room and Yan is going to command a ton. Also he gives me AB vibes going after staff members and being a Twitter diva.

He’s nothing like AB, at all. He shut up for an entire year about his frustrations and is only posting now to get the team to actually move him.

Still would not be happy. We have bigger needs than a DE regardless of how good he is. And that contract is going to be freaking scary. We'd have to clear some serious cap to fit him in, then you're just screwing up Ferrell's development at that point.

We invested the #4 pick into Ferrell, and then Maxx was like a Top 3 Rookie of the Year for Defense, and we just signed Nassib. This trade would he the dumbest in history. Especially considering we didn’t wanna pay Khalil frickin Mack.

Yan is a sure thing. I get Ferrell and definitely Crosby showed promise last season but you know what you’re getting with Yan. One of the best pure pass rushers in the NFL. I wish it didn’t come to this for us and we locked him up long term but we blew it. You can never have enough pass rushers, especially of Yan’s caliber.

Give him 55 or 60 GTD and he will be happy, I think. lol

This. Maaaaaybe if we didn't sign Nassib but still would be a major stretch. I just think this has to be made up to get another team to jump in.

Is YN a good player yes he is but he was good a a D that was littered with talent allowing him to flourish 1 on 1.

Keep him on your garbage roster next season and let's see how he produces.  Then we will see if he is really worth the 20mil he is asking for.  He knows that his numbers will suffer big time if he were to stay in Jax with all of his protection gone and that is why he is demanding a trade to a team that will pay him now as his value is at an ATH.

That team is not the Raiders....  Move on.
