Finally announced after a couple years of leaks, actually seems like way more of a well rounded full game than the "Hogwarts Sims" I expected.

Hogwarts Legacy is an immersive, open-world action RPG set in the world first introduced in the Harry Potter books. Now you can take control of the action and be at the center of your own adventure in the wizarding world. Embark on a journey through familiar and new locations as you explore and discover fantastic beasts, customize your character and craft potions, master spell casting, upgrade talents, and become the wizard you want to be.

Experience Hogwarts in the 1800s. Your character is a student who holds the key to an ancient secret that threatens to tear the wizarding world apart. You have received a late acceptance to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and soon discover that you are no ordinary student: you possess an unusual ability to perceive and master Ancient Magic. Only you can decide if you will protect this secret for the good of all, or yield to the temptation of more sinister magic.

Discover the feeling of living at Hogwarts as you make allies, battle Dark wizards, and ultimately decide the fate of the wizarding world.
Your legacy is what you make of it.

Ooooooooh I've been waiting a decade for a full length harry potter magic RPG that wasn't a **** tie in game.

Come on now....I know you loved the 12 or so cash grab Harry Potter games from EA.

I wonder how much the houses will come into play. Like will they all have their own feel?

Has to be, will add a ton of replay value.  I haven't really kept up with the Fantastic Beasts series, but I did reread the books over the winter and they didn't age as much as I thought they would.  This universe needs a great video game, and this could be it.  I just wonder how long it is going to be, and how much effort goes into variety in the game play based on things like houses and other choices you make.

Yeah gameplay and the loop will be key.

Wonder how much story will be baked in and how much will be your choices. They do seem to lean into what you do matters.

Watching the trailer again it seems like you’ll be making friends/acquaintances. They will help you with stuff, some will give quests or unlock abilities. You do the classroom stuff to gain skills/spells and probably some plot stuff. Then the castle and area around the castle are all puzzles, bosses/creature fights and collectibles.  Taming beasts seems like its a side thing you do.

Interesting for sure. Seems like a little bit of everything.

I'm about to take Hufflepuff to the top of the ******* wizarding world. I've only got a moderate passing interest in Harry Potter, but I'm so keen for this game.

Already getting stressed for the character creation...I’m going to have to reopen the conundrum of feeling like a Ravenclaw but being a Gryffindor for the first time in a decade
