Awsi Dooger
Joe Kapp immediately comes to mind. He came from the CFL and had a relatively short NFL career. But during the 1969 season he was quickly famous and celebrated all season. Awkward scrappy player. Favorite of the blue collar midwestern fan. Seven touchdown passes in one game. Dominant Vikings team. Double digit favorite in the Super Bowl against the Chiefs. Once Kapp and the Vikings were exposed and overmatched in that game, Kapp's career basically ended. He never played again for the Vikings. In one season he went from a household name on the highest rated team in the league to struggling quarterback on the worst team in the league. Kapp started for the Boston Patriots in 1970, winning only one game in 10 starts. He threw only 3 touchdown passes all season, compared to 7 in one game the prior year. Boston earned the top pick in the 1971 NFL Draft, which everyone knew would be Jim Plunkett. Kapp's career ended after that 1970 season. But he did go on to have an interesting career as character actor over the next decade, then football coach and executive in the '80s and early '90s. Alex Smith is 75-35-1 since the start of 2011 with a 94 rating. He's had bad luck in the playoffs but he's a 97 rated playoff QB with 14 TDs to 2 picks. He missed out on a Super Bowl only because Kyle bleepin Williams muffed 2 punts. If the one hit is an entire decade then you may be on to something. Foles is also working on hit number 4. 2013 2017 2018 Now? FYI - He was also a 100+ rating backup in 2 games in KC back with Andy. I'm pretty sure thinking about the 2015 Rams actually causes brain damage in lazy football fans. Vick was a stud in Atlanta for about 4 seasons and then had his 2010 in Philly. 5 hit wonder? Those 2 playoff wins in Atlanta sure were big hits at the time. Mcnabb was outstanding in 2001-2004 and had his moments through 2010. Are we talking about 3 games from AJ Feeley, 2 games from Kevin Kolb, and one Sunday Night game with Koy Detmer?

He had some big passes in Atlanta and he was growing into a better pocket passer, but it's hard to put up good efficiently numbers playing like that. With Reid's wco it got the ball out of Vicks hands and into Jackson and Maclin.

Sure he may have never won the big game, threw up in superbowl, threw at wrs feet. But you won't find many QBs that did more with less in that era. To call him a one hit wonder is a joke tbh. James thrash freddie mitchell woof. Agreed. He was legitimately the entire offense from 2000-2003 before T.O. was acquired. I think he led the team in rushing in 2001 or something. He carried that team of misfits and practice squad players. Your guy was absolute garbage in 2017 and absolute garbage last year when facing real teams. Dak is crap this year according to your pathetic hot take logic (1-3 record!) Wentz had a higher passer rating in 2018 than he did in 2017. My QB who had a sprained shoulder, 2 broken hands, didnt practice all week because he couldnt lift his arm & had 7 (?) drops. Congrats on that historic feat. PS - W/L are not solely a QB stat. Uncle Buck
How about that guy who played for the Packers. I can't even remember his name, but he signed with Seattle for a big contract the same year they took a flyer on Russell Wilson in the third round. Wilson took over in training camp and never looked back.

He is well known in Minnesota for his wobbly, "wounded duck" passes. A few years ago I heard him say in an interview that he never even held the ball by the laces. He just figured if he could hold onto it, he could throw it! He was a real character. I also saw him just a few years ago on a video where he got into a fight against a former defensive player who he remembered took a cheap shot at him or one of his team mates. Two old guys rolling around on the floor trying to beat each other up! Like I said, Joe Kapp was a real character.
