The Florida Gators thread

The Florida Gators entered the day with three verbal commits for their 2023 recruiting class. However, one of those names backed off a verbal pledge from the Gators. The latest name to back off their commitment to the Gators is Milton (Fla.) 2023 four-star wide receiver Raymond Cottrell. He was the highest ranked Gators commitment in the class of 2023 heading into this decision. On top of backing off his commitment to the Gators, Cottrell also announced he would be flipping his commitment to the Georgia Bulldogs.

A 2023 kid so not really that concerning given the uncertainty around the program in the coming year.

Maybe, how much would it have to be to get UGA DC, or maybe the Iowa State HC

I’m expecting Lanning to go this off-season, especially seeing how successful his predecessor Mel Tucker was at Michigan State, as well as the dominance of the defense this year.  Kansas considered him, but ultimately went with Leipold, so I am not sure he would be ready for a gig like Florida.

And at what point do the collective we consider that maybe Matt Campbell really, really, really likes Iowa State and is going to stay there?  He’s been mentioned for at least three years to move up to more prestigious schools and every off-season he stays.
