My point is his contract next year (per spotrac) is 5+ million with no dead money if cut. for 5 mil if we got the cap space i think i keep him on for that. Thats pretty cheap for a guy of his talents saving a extra 2 to 3 mil to go down to a guy like Luke Stocker from hurst i don't think would be worth it in the passing game. Same with Toney. The speed with both Toney and Bateman is just different than Pitts 4.4. But yeah who cares Pitts is 6-5 245 honestly. Still the burst off the line and acceleration in some of these 40 times just seems different than others when the end time is close to the same. If anything Bateman in this did not even have a great start and still did not really matter in the end.

Not saying pro day times are accurate but in general people with longer strides seem to go slower even if they don't.

True, but could be the angle of the video that Pitts 40 was shot in with that high camera. But look up Terron Armstead's 40 on youtube and even there he looks quicker out of gates and in acceleration than that Pitts video and Armstead only ran a 4.65 but still amazing for his size. Then again that is proper camera work and proper angle that is the same as all the rest. However shot that video for Pitts though that angel sucks. Nevelle Clark worked out, surprised he did not catch on in the NFL but doubt him being at the pro day changes that. When he was at UCF he looked easily like the best DB they had no question as a younger player. Still say outside of Grant most of those UCF DBs are kind of overrated in this group. THE DUKE
Ah, Pro Days, when 150 guys "shouldn't get out of the top 50 picks". Then when 1-2 of those outlier guys actually go in the top 50 picks they retweet themselves and pat themselves on the back like they are a mixture of Vince Lombardi and Howard Cossell re-incarnated Edited April 1, 2021 by THE DUKE
