Kyle was laughing at the idea they liked mac in the press conference. They said that the rumors started and that there was no reason for them to change the narrative. My prevailing theory before the draft was that we were smoke screening the jets because they didnt like wilson. They all but confirmed that wilson wasnt QB2 for us in their press conference. I think he was QB4 for them behind fields. Mac was never in play. They said that it was Lance from the day they traded up, which is inline with what they said in their predraft press conference about having someone in the lead position who only improved during the process. Kyle said that the only people that knew were he and John Lynch and that he didnt want any of his scouts or coaches to know who he liked because he didnt want them to skew their opinions on guys and he wanted honest evaluations from everyone. There is no reason to lie about anything after the fact. Also, the fact fields and Mac dropped means they were probably spot on in their assessment.
