Being one of the 4 worst defenders in the NBA is a pretty glaring weakness.

And yes, those guys made it one round further because of teammates.  Paul George has been a liability for 10 years and now after one series against an also injured team, gets a pass?  When he has a bench player go off for 39?

You're right...yet it doesn't hamper a team nearly as badly as being a nothing scorer on a max contract. See: Young, Trae.

A pass? Paul George has been ripped apart for the last 4 years because of his playoff failures. He's getting less heat now because he actually played, you know, well in the playoffs. Simmons hasn't ever done that. Maybe that'll change, but only when he adds to his game which would this prove our side right. He's almost the exact same player he was as a rookie, and yet you act as if he's been adding to his game all this time.

I don't know why you have so much faith in Simmons. It's honestly baffling. As stated, he hasn't improved in 4 years. He was just surrounded by great shooters and the MVP runner-up...yet still somehow got the yips and buckled against the ******* Hawks.

Simmons is the same player he was 6 years ago at LSU. The team actually got worse adding Simmons and missed the tournament despite him putting up solid numbers, lol.

Perimeter defense is becoming vastly overrated. You can be the literal GOAT perimeter defender but you’re still a good screen away from being removed from where your impact will be most felt. In today’s NBA you are going to have to switch most of the time when everyone on the floor can shoot.

And to add to this, you're absolutely correct, good offense will always beat good defense. Trae Young averaged 29 ppg for the season, although on meh efficiency, but had 35 in their game 1 win and 39 in their game 5 win with the series tied 2-2, both on decent efficiency. Brad Beal averaged 30 ppg on 45% FG in their first round matchup. And two years ago Kawhi Leonard averaged 35 points on 53% FG against the 76ers in the second round. So in-spite of Simmons being such a great defender that "guards 1-5" and has 2 other All-NBA level defenders on his team, the 76ers have gotten fried by good offensive players in the playoffs.

The fact Sacramento said they wouldn't even consider including Fox or Haliburton in a Ben Simmons package says all you need to know about how he's valued around the league.

I'm pretty sure Morey is the only one who doesn't know what Simmons' value is.

The Lakers are definitely a mystery team but could be better with Russ, just have to wait and see.

We didn't get better this off-season? Donovan Mitchell's continued progression alone will make us better and we had the best record in the league last season but Mitchell/Conley were both hurt in the playoffs. We kept our core players together and got more versatile on both ends of the floor. Rudy Gay replacing Niang in our rotation is a huge upgrade, Whiteside is an upgrade over Favors, Paschall is a versatile piece at the end of the bench, and Jared Butler should be able to give us decent minutes off the bench.

The Warriors are essentially the same team that they were last year with two more rookies, one of which isn't even really ready to play. Klay Thompson is still hurt and is going to miss the first half of the season. And you genuinely think Ben Simmons/Draymond Green would work together offensively?

Jazz didn't do anything substantial to improve their team. That's why Ingles and Bogdonavic were on the trade block and no one bit. Mitchell will progress, but Conley is teetering towards the decline. Rudy Gay and Hassan Whiteside do nothing to move the needle in the West. Objectively, the Jazz are still just the Jazz. Will perform well in the regular season and then go as far as Mitchell can carry them.

Klay is projected to be back by Christmas I believe. If they can tread water and go .500 for 7 weeks, they will be fine.

No I don't think they work well together, Draymon has to go. Which shouldn't be hard considering he just roasted Kerr and Bob Myers on his podcast a week ago
