Smith is taking shortcuts and it shows

AFlaccoSeagulls
You could just tell the Vikings offense was not going to do anything down the stretch. Not sure if it's no faith in Cousins, or scheme, or the Cowboys taking away the deep shots, but I, as a neutral observer, knew that game was over when the Cowboys scored that TD. You knew the Vikings weren't going to take shots down the field and were just going to dink and dunk and hope for a miracle. I just don't get it. I really don't. Kirk can clearly do it. You have 2 legit weapons and 2 legit running backs. Why are you so scared to play offense?

Lost respect for Smith. It was so obvious in real time. Smith was doing his best version of an early 1990's UFC choke. It had me looking for another player to come in with one boxing glove to complete the look.

My hope is that we get a new HC and GM who know how to install a modern offense and get the right pieces on the OL to do so.

I didn't see that when watching the game but then I looked at the numbers say 40% of drop backs there was pressure which is interesting. The OL really has been a bright spot this year, though Dallas was too much. Could build up the interior a little bit, Bradbury still gets abused when forced to anchor and the Udoh experiment probably needs to end soon to see Wyatt Davis play. Darrisaw and Cleveland look like they belong on the left side and O’Neill is great. But it’s a coaching problem at the end of the day. The teams philosophy should be built around Cousins, Jefferson and Thielen to setup the run. Instead, we’re too focused on running the ball to setup playaction, playing safe in the passing game and assuming the defense keeps the game close.
