Maybe it is a personality preference. Pep is waaaaay more qualified than Culley as an OC. Started his NFL career here as Jay's QB coach under Martz, went to work for Jim Harbaugh as QB coach and OC under David Shaw. Was OC for Andrew Luck w/ Colts, HC that actually made Cardale Jones look good in the XFL before covid. QB coach/OC for Justin Herbert, last year was the OC for the Texans doing yeoman's work w/ Davis Mills. Pep has QB skins on the wall. David Culley to my knowledge has never been an OC nor tied to QB development.
Madmike90
Tom Silverstein @TomSilverstein · 8m According to a source, #Packers QBs coach/passing game coordinator has an offer to become offensive coordinator under new #Bears coach Matt Eberflus. It's his job if he wants, a source said. Benefit over GB is that he could call plays.

I wouldn’t…every team must interview at least one minority candidate for a coordinator role…I suspect we wants to speak with both these guys but seems like Getsy is in the lead due to his apparent relationship with Eberflus…would love to know if his agent is Trace Armstrong. Been around the Packers since 2014 and has a history with both QB & WRs...left the Packers for a year and became the OC at Mississippi State... Connection to Eberflus is probably down to him having been the QB and a GA assistant at Akron.
Ty21
The reward system in place for grooming minority coaches/personnel still feels racist and makeshift

I am pretty open to either...the fact Getsy got a HC interview in Denver this year says he is clearly highly rated around the league...whoever the best man for the job and developing Fields and the whole offence is the guy I want. He might, but perhaps Eberflus was very impressed with Getsy. If he accepts prior to then, Hamilton's will get cancelled ala Dennis Allen's

From what I saw on Twitter Packer fans don't want him to go. Was the OC at Mississippi State in 2018. Looks like he choose to go back to GB as the QB coach over keeping that job. Madmike90
Aaron Leming @AaronLemingNFL 23m If an official offer to Getsy out already out there, my guess is that they would want Pep Hamilton for QB coach/passing game coordinator role that he has played the past 2 years. That combo would make me feel pretty damn good. #Bears This would be incredible.
Madmike90
Brad Spielberger, Esq. @PFF_Brad 24m Getsy is a Joe Moorhead disciple, so I was wrong earlier to say McCarthy if anything (but definitely not Shanahan). Primarily 11-personnel, Up-tempo, lot of RPOs. Fields’ legs will be a factor as well.
