From 2012-2019 Trent was #1 in almost everyones OT lists, this is just recency bias in your part. He’s had some health issues, and no desire to play for Washington, but he is back to being the #1 OT in the NFL.

No way. Joe Thomas was the guy, and then it was always a pick ‘em between Tyron, Peters, and Trent. It was never unanimous the way Thomas was.

Joe Thomas was fantastic but really overrated on the internet. His average PFF season was about 86. And most analytic sites do not grade him out super highly on a season by season basis. He was Top 5 every year, but people acting like Thomas was GOAT level is simply no where close to accurate. He's a Hall of Famer and heck of a Tackle, don't get me wrong.

When did PFF become the end-all authority on player rankings?

Analytics in general, also Trent and Tyron were always much better run blockers, and many seasons Trent/Tyron’s pass protection was on par with Joe if not better.

Trent is the best LT in the league right Now, he had an all time great season at that position last year.  Wirfs is the best RT. When has a team ever had both?

One year the Raiders had five eventual hall of fame offensive lineman on the roster. I think it was 1971. Gene Upshaw (OG), Art Shell (OT), Jim Otto (C), Bob Brown (OT) and Ron Mix (OT)

PFF had Thomas over Williams for All-Pro in 2013 (Thomas was first team, Williams was second.) They didn't have either of them as all-pro in 2012 or 2014. They had Thomas as all-pro in 2015, while Williams was not. 2016 they did have Williams as all-pro, and not Thomas. 2017, 2018, 2019, they didn't have either listed. The window you listed, 2012 - 2019, Williams average grade from PFF was 83.8. Even if you want to treat PFF as gospel, which we all know should not be done, they very rarely had Williams as the top guy in the league (only 2016), and less often than Thomas (2013, 2015), and apparently had Thomas higher on average too.

LT ranking discussion back then were like DT discussions now. We all agree on the top guy, so let's just start the conversation at #2.

This idea that Williams was the best LT in football for a decade is absolutely revisionist history. You're the one projecting recent performance backwards due to recency bias. The past two years, sure, Williams has been a beast and probably the best LT and football. But let's not act like that was the norm for a decade.

If anything it's the complete and utter opposite "on your Part"!!!!

There is a reason he "Was" never 1st Team All Pro until last year.

There were better LT in the "NFL" for those seasons! In each and everyone of those seasons.👍

Top 5 LT, absolutely. "BEST LT" most of his career, you're tripping. Sorry. Doesn't mean he wasn't and isnt a HOF'r.

2nd Team All-Pro in 2015...that's it for that time period.

Their offensive line shoulda been SBMVP against the Vikings. Destroyed the purple people eaters
