Possibly on a team that's an odds-on favorite to make the Divisional Round of the playoffs (or at minimum are odds-on favorites to win their division), but the guy has gotten his bag twice and gotten a ring already. Unless he really, really just loves playing and can't shake the monkey, I'd wager he's more likely to be one of those types to opt to not sign anywhere now if he can't get a starting gig and instead just stay in shape and wait to see if a guy goes down on a contender and he can jump in mid-season, at least before he'd just up and agree to be a backup.. Hopefully he finds a backup role and stays healthy or moves on with his earnings and starts something new. Guys like Whit playing 173 of 176 games from 28 to 38 are unicorns.
