The teams he beat

Dallas

Pittsburgh twice

Cincinnati twice

New york

Washington

Dallas -- finished 6-10

Pittsburgh twice -- finished 12-4

Cincinnati twice -- finished 4-11-1

New york -- finished 6-10

Washington --  finished 7-9

Collective -- 35- 44 - 1

Winning % = 0.44375

I am not sure pointing out the teams that CLE beat that year helps your case

It’s really starting to look like Baker Mayfield’s winning is what happens when you put Gardner Minshew on a team with an elite offensive line, elite running backs, good tight ends, and competent receivers, all backed up with a solid defence that doesn’t always gel but is loaded with talent.

look at the complete lack of effort by NFL teams to and him. Teams are happier going with the Drew Lock’s and Mariota’s of the world with potential of a rookie over giving up anything for Baker.

I trust the general consensus of the league on this one. Bakers either sucks in the locker room or he’s just not a very good QB. I’m assuming it’s some kind of mix of those two.

How come the afc was not loaded with 12 game winner

If the schedule was that easy

He beat the afc conference leader in wins twice

The only team to do that.

He also beat the young champions twice that year.

Was nfc weak or did they get beat up on by the Browns.

That Pittsburgh lead the conference in wins was qb by Ben Roethlisberger .

Why do you not tell Deshaun that those were a weak conference.

Besides how many teams did Dallas surrender 40 plus to that year.

The Browns just completely botched any chance that they had at getting a solid return for him. They could've started shopping him when teams like the Colts, WFT, Broncos, etc. were looking to trade for a QB. By the time they started shopping him a lot of teams had already acquired another QB. And the few teams that are potential suitors for him know that the Browns have literally zero leverage because if they can't find a trade partner they'll eventually have to release him. The fact that he's on the last year of his rookie deal also doesn't really help his value because you could give up assets for a 1 year rental like the Colts did with Wentz.

Your timing doesn't add up though. The Browns were held hostage when Watson went on his NFL world tour of potential suitors. They couldn't shop or trade Baker because there wasn't any guarantee Watson would become a Brown.  Hell Deshaun didn't decide that until the last minute as is.

If they traded Baker, Watson becomes a Panther then what? They're the laughing stock of the NFL.

The real problem is the fact Cleveland knows they are getting next to nothing in return via trade because of Bakers contract and are intentionally holding his career hostage in return out of spite. As if he created this cluster flop, not them or Watson.

They would've been the laughing stock of the NFL for trading a QB that they don't view as their long term solution? The Colts were a borderline playoff team last year and just traded Wentz for significantly less than what they traded to acquire him just a year ago with no obvious replacement.

If they traded Baker, missed out on Watson, Wilson, ect. Who was their Starter for 2022? A Rookie,  Keenum, Brissett? 👍

It was the perfect storm of ineptitude.
