Hawks trading veteran to move up in the draft?

The Hawks are one of the teams to monitor closely this week: sources say they’ve been actively looking to move into the top 10 and are eyeing Portland’s selection at No. 7, among other scenarios. Atlanta appears to have real interest in drafting a guard to pair with Trae Young. And John Collins, Clint Capela and Kevin Huerter have all surfaced as trade possibilities.

Per sources, the Grizzlies have looked at trading up into the teens, proposing packages that include this selection in combination with veteran players, including De’Anthony Melton.

Warriors trading first-round pick?

Sources say the Warriors are working to trade this pick, considering their hefty payroll and the need to integrate James Wiseman, Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody into the rotation next season.

Think the Kyrie stuff is more about him being reliable then anything. Kyrie is worth every penny when he’s on the court just that he’s been off the court then on lately.

I think he wants the 4 yr/$190M that Durant got but they'd prefer that he plays out the last year on his deal before extending him.

It looks like the Jazz are going to be conservative this offseason so that we can avoid the luxury tax. Everything has gone down hill since the new owner took over.

We're reportedly bringing back 15 candidates for a second interview, lol.

I don’t think the Warriors trade the pick.

Yea why would they? Whoever they’d be getting back isn’t going to be cheaper than the rookie and won’t be controlled on said cheap contract for as long as a rookie would be. Should have no bearing on how Wiseman, Kuminga and Moody get integrated into the fold.

Their projected payroll is almost $500M if they bring everyone back and keep the pick but they'd save like $11M by trading the pick.

Sources say Detroit has also been weighing the free-agent pursuit of Dennis Schröder as a more cost-effective option for the Pistons’ backcourt. Detroit, furthermore, has been frequently linked to Knicks free agent big man Mitchell Robinson, who remains eligible for an extension with New York through June 30.

Amid great anticipation regarding Detroit’s intentions with Jerami Grant (will he finally be traded?) and whether the Pistons will indeed pursue marquee free agents like Ayton or Dallas’ Jalen Brunson, league sources say that the Pistons have very strong interest in re-signing the recently acquired Marvin Bagley III. The former Sacramento King made a positive impression in his half-season in Motown.

John Collins likely to be traded

The likelihood of a John Collins trade, league sources indicate, is as high as it’s ever been. Collins just completed the first season of a five-year, $125 million contract, but the newness of his deal didn’t do anything to downgrade external interest in the 6-foot-9 forward that has bubbled leaguewide since talks broke down between Collins and Hawks on a $90 million extension at the start of the 2020-21 season.
