Lions will get a solid player with the 2nd round pick then clear house, firing Campbell and all the other coaches.

The new coaching staff they bring in will have a totally different scheme rendering the solid player you draft useless.

They aren't firing Campbell. They signed him to a 6 year deal to do a total tear down rebuild. Last year was the tear down. This year is the acquiring talent/building an identity year. No one expected them to compete for anything. Those are expectations fans had after Hard Knocks. Unjustly so.

How do the Vikings lose here?

Giving up a second round pick for an injury prone TE in an offense their own HC described as having weeks where the position won't be used in the passing game.  A passing game where he's the fourth option when they are using the position nonetheless

Thor Nystrom@thorku

Rich Hill Trade Chart points*: (*2024 estimates)

MN gets:
Hockenson
2023 R4 (38 points)
2024 R4 (32)

DET gets:
2023 R2 (91)
2024 R3 (50)

Vikes relinquish 71 points.
Upshot: Vikes acquired Hockenson for equivalent of No. 69 overall pick. Steal for exactly what they needed.

A late 2nd and were more than likely getting a top 100 pick back. KOC has schemed up Mundt touches in the RZ one can only think how well he does with an actual threat at TE makes me excited. His he injured now? No. So that point is kinda pointless.

You're acting like they didn't get picks back as well.

This.

The fact that we’re getting picks back is icing on the cake for me.

Slick Rick Spielman traded a 4th round pick last year for Chris Herndon who’s in street clothes right now.

since when is Hockenson an injury prone TE ? He has missed around 8 games in 3 1/2 seasons so far, roughly an average of 2 games missed per season.
