Spin it however you like with the premium player.  Your GM said he's not getting a first.  A premium could be a 2nd this year and contingent in 2024 that could be another 2nd.  That's plenty of premium picks for a guy 90% retired that we would be saddled with a huge dead money hit when he does hang them up because of your GM's dumb extension.  Sounds pretty risky if you ask me.

Again, our GM said nothing of the sort.

He said it "doesn't necessarily" have to be a first round pick. Meaning, we're going to get a premium value for hm, and if the Jets want to keep 13, they'll have to pay in other ways.

Green Bay Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst said at the NFL annual meeting Monday he wants “fair value” in a potential trade sending four-time MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets but added that's not necessarily a first-round pick.

If that's not him breaking the bad news to you Packer fans then I'm not sure what more he needs to say before you realize you aren't getting 13.

You've not experienced enough of AR to realize that 90% of what he says is self serving BS. I honestly hope you do have him long enough to get there.

Yeah like a 2nd LOL.  He said "fair" value not "premium" value.  Considering no other GM is offering first round value than fair value is what you can get.

Things are only worth what someone is willing to pay and right now nobody is paying a "premium" for a 40 year old half retired QB no matter how good of a career he had.

Please stop telling Packers fans what their GM said, as you have no clue obviously.

That's fine he might want to play 4 more years for all we know.  It hurts your leverage though when he says things like that.  Can't just assume he's lying and overpay in hopes he does play 4 years.

Right now all we know is he was 90% retired, no other team is offering anything of substance, the Jets aren't overpaying and we all know you don't want him showing up to camp and having to pay him 60M this year.  That situation right there isn't getting you a first since no team is paying it.

Oh they think there’s several teams that want him. They’re only working with us bc that’s what AR requested. Even though their GM yesterday said no other teams are in on him. That there were just a few teams who asked about it awhile ago but nothing of substance and those teams have moved on (I assume LV).

A second is a premium pick.  Again he's not even talking to your GM anymore and nobody is offering a better package take what you can get and move on.  You can't afford to pay him $60M and/or not start Love.

It's over man the sooner you come to grips with not getting 1st round value for a 40 year old QB the lesser the sting will be.

Sure many teams would love him.  They just aren't paying a 1st to get him and they don't want or can't cover his contract or eat the dead money when he retires.

So you mean, exactly the same thing as Jets fans are stating ?? Got it.

Except we’re not speaking as if what our opinion is, is a fact.

You said this, “We'll get the cumulative value we want.”

As if it’s a fact and you know it. Which isn’t true.

Do teams typically accept trades they don't want? So if we accept the trade before the draft, we got the cumulative value we wanted, correct?

2023 2nd and a 2024 1st is nice value for him.

If it drags out into summer and we get less than that, it's safe to assume we didn't get the value we wanted.
