I sincerely doubt we end up seeing another franchise tag. By then the Redskins will have essentially paid Kirk $26 million a year for 3 years 100% guaranteed, they could just sign him to a deal for that much. Yes, but the money already paid on the first two tags are sunk costs. It has no bearing on the money being paid moving forward. They've already paid him that. If they can't come to an agreement they have no qualms about tagging him for a third time. Kirk will never hit the open market in 2018. In 2019, maybe. But he's not going to hit the open market this off-season. They've basically already said they have no issues tagging him a third time if it came to that. We could actually see a slight decline in the cap if the rumours about declining TV audience is correct and what effect will that have on salaries for QB's??? I for one, will no longer watch a game on Fox who is a huge Trump supporter and has turned their news into a Trump worship station. Could that be what is driving NFL TV viewership down?
