I don't think they'll be able to afford thomas with the 35 mill Carr wants.  Even if they can, he'll play 3-4 games before getting hurt again so it's Olave and a guy who caught 28 passes in his career.  Got it

If Thomas stays he will have to restructure, and it will be heavily incentive based. Shaheed was a rookie and only played in 12 games. Flashed a lot of upside. I'm not sure why you're acting like this receiving core is lacking talent?

The Saints are now in the perfect position to compete to be a playoff team in a weak division and do nothing more. Carr definitely makes them better, but this is not a championship roster with him at the helm and Allen at HC. Basically, welcome to purgatory Saints fans.

As opposed to? NFL teams don't tank and the Saints aren't bad enough to finish in the top 5, especially in that division. Anything can happen in the playoffs with a great defense.

Michael Thomas turned 30 3 days ago lol. He isn't a corpse, just hasn't been healthy. Even without him the receiving core is more than fine. Tuttle is JAG so I couldn't care less if we lose him. Onyemata has made it pretty clear he wants to stay here. Davenport has done nothing, but would like to keep him at a reasonable price. They do cap gymnastics every year, we just get interest free loans.

He has played 10 games in 3 seasons and is now 30. That's a corpse.

You're $49m over the cap next year before signing Carr. But keep thinking you can keep paying your credit card bills with more credit cards.

You see what's happening to the Rams? They're going to swallow some cap casualties so they can get their cap right for the future.

And guess what? They'll restructure and turn salary into signing bonuses and push money into the future where the cap rises...As long as the cap continues to rise yearly, they're getting interest free loans.

Genuine question but can the Saints defense be considered great? IIRC, they were mediocre at best last year but i could easily be wrong.

Why is everyone omitting Alvin Kamara when talking about WRs? I’d argue his presence in the passion game exceeds a lot of teams’ #2 WR situations.

Kamara takes a ton of weight off the WR unit.

Didn’t his passion game lead to his assault and battery case?

Started off slow, and were a pretty damn good unit second half of the season without their best player in Lattimore. Finished 9th in PPG allowed while missing Lattimore for a majority of the year.

Ehhhh…. Not like there’s much to compete against in the NFC. You got Philly and SF, Dallas continues to make themselves look like dolts in the playoffs, Seattle and LAR are still reworking, nobody in the NFCN should be taken seriously…

The Saints COULD make a run, depending on how the playoff seeding falls.
