Re-Grading your teams 2018 draft

Mike Hughes: D. He made a handful of plays, but never really recovered from his torn ACL it seemed. He was constantly injured and we couldn't rely on him. Average player when healthy.

Brian O'Neill: A+. One of the best RTs in the game. Key piece to the offense and has been recognized by the NFL with pro bowl honors.

Jayln Holmes: D-. Extremely underwhelming player who never took advantage of any playing time he got. Couldn't cut it at DT so hewas forced to move to DE. He could stop the run but had no pass rush skill whatsoever.

Tyler Conklin: B. Nice role player until 2021 when he was a full time starter and was reliable. For a 5th round pick, what he produced for us is more than you can ask for.

Daniel Carson: F-. LMFAO Vikings kicker. Of course he's very good now with the Raiders but LMFAO.

Colby Gossett: F. Did nothing.

Ade Aruna: F. One injury did him in entirely.

Devante Downs: F. Flashed in preseason but did nothing when it mattered.

Overall grade: D+.

For the Vikes, only worthwhile picks were Mike Hughes, Brian O’Neill and Daniel Carlson. Hughes and Carlson were awful here, but to be fair to Carlson, he never had a chance with Zimmer. O’Neill has been great, only thing saving this class from being a F.

The 2016 class is an all-time bad one.

1 (25): TE Hayden Hurst -> Overall this pick simply became a luxury because of how good Mark Andrews immediately was. Hurst was a good TE2 for us before going to FA elsewhere. I would give this pick a C.

1(32): QB Lamar Jackson -> Obviously A+. Unanimous MVP, completely turned the franchise around.

3(83): OT Orlando Brown Jr. -> Another A+ pick for us. An anchor at RT before we traded him.

3(86): TE Mark Andrews -> Another A+ pick. Top 3 TE in the NFL in teh 3rd round? Sheesh.

4(118): CB Anthony Averett -> B- pick, he was solid in the slot but never stayed healthy.

4(122): LB Kenny Young -> F. Awful player. Flashed occasionally but was just bad.

4(132): WR Jaleel Scott -> F. Has never done anything.

5(162): WR Jordan Lasley -> Cut in his 2nd(?) year.

6(190): S DeShon Elliott -> A. Was a starting S for us but plagued by injuries. Seems to be a solid player around the league but again struggles to stay healthy.

6(212): OT Greg Senat -> F. Never did anything.

6(215): OC Bradley Bozeman -> A. Became a solid player for us.

7(238): DT Zach Sieler -> F. I give this pick an F because we just gave him to the Dolphins for nothing and it seems like he's become a solid rotational/starting DL.

Overall the Ravens completely nailed the top end of the draft, but almost everything else was  complete failure.

Not good lol, Veachs worst draft by far. Breeland Speaks is out of the league. Nnadi is solid as a run defender, but has kinda lost even that now. Nobody else of note.

I think Tremon Smith and Armani Watts are still somewhere contributing on ST’s,   But yuck.

2. Dallas Goedert- One of the better all round tight ends in the NFL. A.

4. Avonte Maddox CB- A very good slot corner- A

4. Josh Sweat Edge- Pro Bowl Edge A

6. Matt Pryor OL- Still in the league ended up trading him for value back. B.

7. Jordan Mailata- Young bookend LT that succeeds on an island. A+

Probably Howies best draft as a GM>

Buccaneers Draft I give it a solid B+

Vea is a monster but had a down year this past season.  RoJo and MJ Stewart were busts, but Licht hit the later rounds out of the park.  Carlton, Cappa, Whitehead all played a pivotal role in the run for the Superbowl and still are playing at a high level.  Only two on the team still is Vea and Carlton but it isn't because the others were bad picks its just they were too expensive to keep in FA.

Vita Vea (Round 1, Pick 12)  A

Ronald Jones II (Round 2, Pick 38)   D

M.J. Stewart (Round 2, Pick 53)  F

Carlton Davis (Round 2, Pick 63)  A

Alex Cappa (Round 3, Pick 94)  B

Jordan Whitehead (Round 4, Pick 117)  B

Justin Watson (Round 4, Pick 144) C

Jack Cichy (Round 6, Pick 202)  F

Round 1: Ninth Overall - Mike McGlinchey, T, Notre Dame

A-. While he didn't earn a 2nd contract from SF, he played out his 5 years as a solid starter. OT was a huge need and he was the best one they could have gotten there

Round 2: 44th Overall (from Washington) - Dante Pettis, WR, Washington

Big fat F. They traded up for this joker and he was just a massive disappointment.

Round 3: 70th Overall (from Chicago) - Fred Warner, LB, BYU

A+++++++++. 'Nuf said.

Round 3: 95th Overall (from New England) - Tarvarius Moore, DB, Southern Miss

C. Talented dude but just never healthy. I wanted him back this year, but he has moved on to Cinci I believe

Round 4: 128th Overall (from Pittsburgh) - Kentavius Street, DL, N.C. State

D. Solid enough depth player, but spending a 4th rounder on a guy who already tore his ACL wasn't a great move.

Round 5: 142nd Overall (from Washington) - D.J. Reed, CB, Kansas State

C+. Wasn't a fan of him while he was on our team, but DJ has made a nice career for himself since leaving.

Round 6: 184th Overall - Marcell Harris, S, Florida

B. Converted to LB, he belongs in the league which is better than most 6th rounders

Round 7: 223rd Overall (from Miami) - Jullian Taylor, DT, Temple

No grade. I do not remember this person

Round 7: 240th Overall (from Kansas City) - Richie James, WR, Middle Tennessee State

A. Solid kick returner and made a decent 3rd/4th receiver before his injury... great pick for a 7th rounder. Rooting for him in NY

all but 1 still in the NFL which is absurd. A top 5 QB, a LB that just got a bag in free agency, an all pro lineman (whiffed by trading him before he got to that), an upper echelon nickel CB, and a few more useful depth guys.

Overall pretty poor but when you draft an arguable top 3 player at a important position cant complain too much.

1. Jaire Alexander A+ - One of the best CBs in the league. Its an A++ considering the trade down and extra first round pick received from the Saints.

2. Josh Jackson D - Showed promise but never actually was any good.

3. Oren Burks D+ - Special teams guy only. His atheltisicm just didn't translate.

4. J'Mon Moore F - Crap

5. Cole Madison F - Had some mental health issues and then promptly got injured the next year.

5. JK Scott C - - Was a pretty solid punter but just too inconsistent. He is still in the NFL so more power to him.

5. Marquez Valdes-Scantling - B - Great pick who has found a good niche as a valued deep threat receiver. In the late 5th i'll take that all day.

6. Equanimeous St. Brown - C- - Has shown promise at different parts of his career just injuries and inconsistency derailed his time with GB. Still not bad for a 6th round flyer.

7. James Looney - F - No value at all. Wasn't an end and wasn't a TE. Didn't provide ST value either.

7. Hunter Bradley - F - When you draft a LS you expect him to be on the team for 15 years. He couldn't make it 3. Wasted pick.

7. Kendall Donnerson - F - No ST value no defensive value.

1.22 rashaan evans- D. showed some flashes but ultimately was a bust and didn't get a second contract

2.41 harold landry- A. has blossomed into a really good pass rusher- not THE guy off the edge, but a very high end #2 edge or low end #1, plus he's versatile enough to drop into coverage, play the run, etc. got a well-deserved extension and then sadly blew out his ACL in training camp, but he's been a very worthwhile pick.

5.152 dane cruikshank- B. for what he was, a 5th rounder, he was solid value. for a couple of years he was a really effective role player on defense covering TEs, and was always a good special teamer. didn't get a 2nd contract from us and is now a backup with the bears.

6.199 luke falk- F. don't think he even made the roster, either way never did anything.

pretty much the quintessential jon robinson experience. completely whiffing on the first rounder, finding solid value elsewhere, and having an annoyingly low amount of draft capital.
