As the up-front pressure has lessened, we've seen a lot of the different weaknesses with guys on that back 7 show up. Don't get me wrong, he's fantastic as an uncovered, see-ball-chase-ball guy vs. the run, and a massive threat in pass rush. But he also gets washed out when Vea isn't there clogging up the middle, and he's an absolute liability in pass coverage. This is not a complete ILB monster we're talking about here. Absolutely - but again, he was given clean looks, and didn't have to worry too much about covering players. That DL / EDGE combo made life so easy for him. If Vea doesn't play it becomes even more obvious what White struggles with. 2020's D basically was the perfect combo to hide the 2 big flaws in his game. Again, he's a great chase-the-ball guy when he's free, and an absolute pass rush threat. But getting washed out, and not covering well, that's not even close to a top 5 ILB, and certainly not for market FA $ he's likely seeking.
