jetfan8178
It seems like alot but if he sticks around for 2-3 years I think we did well. key is the draft. Its going to look crazy but if we can land a guy like Paris Johnson 1st round and schmitz in the 2nd with what we have we are in amazing shape on thee OL. We still have some Trade bait on the team with corey davis that might get us some movement. Im sure theres a plan. Theres also a ton of room we can make with the cap. Over the cap shows a 15790000 cap hit for Rodgers this year. Edited April 25, 2023 by jetfan8178

That would help make the OL into something respectable. I just do not see it happening now that we have the worlds greatest OC back on the team. My respect level for JD is slowly dropping. My hope is that McG was only brought back to make Rodgers happy since he does not seem to play nicely with youngins'. Getting an OC on day 2 that can come in towards the end of the year when McG inevitable shows he is not good, may be the best we can hope for. NYJets4716
I am cautiously optimistic that Becton is going to rebound this season and start. We have not seen him this motivated and taking care of his body like this before. He was near 400 pounds, now he is like 350, lower than his combine. The thing with Becton is if he is healthy and motivated, no one is beating him out. He has the talent to be all pro. He is WAY more committed to football now. He knows this golden ticket is only good for so long so you better take it and run.

Over the cap shows a 15790000 cap hit for Rodgers this year. If you care about statistic or something like that then Wright and Wypler are better than your recommendation from collegiate standpoint. OTC already converted the option bonus but it isn't official yet. It converted to the length (4 years), hence 14.575m prorated figure. What if Jets add another year to make it 5 year conversion, making 11.66m per season?
JetsandI
Rodgers' 2025 cap charge or dead money will be a major headache. Until then we should shut up about his cap charge for 2023 and 2024. Jets can dump Rodgers by 5th day of next league year if he finish this year healthy to avoid picking up another option bonus. Big Q contract may be in strong conflict with Rodgers' future cap charge. Best way to give him a contract is heavy base salary or option bonus so that way Jets can convert either for 2024 and/or 2025 situation. It will be a very low first round pick like late 20's. You know how many times a guy is drafted in the late 20's and does well. Have you looked at your schedule next year? Play the AFC West and NFC east along with the Browns. Not out of the realm of possibility that Jets finish with a top 10/15 pick with no Elijah Moore, Breece Hall coming back from an ACL and a weak OL. 15412
The biggest get for the GB Packers is not the draft haul, which is substantial for a 40 year old player. It is getting out from under that horrendous contract. No doubt the Jets are contenders this year and likely next with him at the helm, but late in the year Ol Rodg sure hasn't done much for us for a decade now. At least his cap hit for you this year is minimal. Good luck!

Moore did nothing at all as a Jet but casue probelms in the locker room. No lose there. Breece Hall from reports say he is doing great and is expected to be almost reday if not reday by week 1. OL is getting a NEW LT that will be a pro bow guy for years in Becton back. He is down to 350 and looks great. He knows he has to cash in on a big contract and will do whatever it takes to get that. I'm shocked that people even got mad that Moore was moved. At his best he might be McL from Wash but most likely a guy that will jump around from team to team and be out of the NFL in 3 years. The Bills did not get better this year and there is even reports that Diggs is mad at Allen from the sideline show he put on. Bills are taking a step back this year. Miami is trash because you know Tua will not make 17 games let alone be arond for the playoffs. The Pats have nothing and if the jets just had an average QB they would have beat the pats twice last year. Now we got an all pro QB. Browns are a joke. The NFC is trash. The eagles where suppose to be this great team and got beat. Dallas is always a joke and Wash gross. Giants will be a good game. The west has KC and that is it. The Chargers always fold at the end. GangGreen420
I never thought I’d be completely disinterested about Rodgers coming to Jets.

KimuraGod
Interesting to see the reworked deal. If it means he gives us two or even three years then it makes the compensation very easy to digest.
