Interesting Mock where we land DeJean. The rest of it is a bit meh, no offensive linemen in the first three rounds.

Definitely different.  Even having taken DeJean earlier, would GB really pass on Kool-Aid at #58?

I know the RB class is weak, but I'd be surprised to see a total of 1 RB taken in the first 3 rounds.

Dude, I would take that haul in a heart beat.

DeJean and James Williams lock down the safety position.

Leonard Taylor adds a little beef that Brooks and Wooden don't have on the DL.

Get a pass rush helper while Enagbare is injured and Smith is winding down.

Add a RB.

OL is my only complaint there.

If he says it makes sense on a trade chart, I believe the guy.  MOST people here aren't just making up stupid trades for the sake of it.  I don't think the Jets fan is too familiar with our roster though.  No way are we looking at a WR/TE in a trade up, especially with our talented youth.  And I would bet that he was thinking the Jets would benefit from more picks rather than high picks.

It really isn't too terrible of an idea on paper.  I don't think it is a good deal for the Packers.  But I honestly don't think he was thinking it was a super rip off either.

It's not really fair value according to the draft pick value charts.  Pick #10 is worth 1300 points ... Pick #25, #41 & #57 is worth 1540.  I think 25/41/91 would be fair.  Those picks total up to 1346.

I would probably throw out a mock draft that has Kool-Aid available at #58.

I still wouldn't do it, I think we really need to add to the DB room, and RB room.  We are also closer to the end with Preston Smith, De'Vondre Campbell, and Aaron Jones than we are to the beginning.  Not that we necessarily need to use 25, 41, and 57 on any thing specific, but I do like the idea of more attempts.  I think that the way the team closed out the season kind of makes it look a little better than it actually is, there are still quite a few areas to strengthen, we aren't just one splash away.

I see what he is saying, but...

-We have 2 RBs under contract:  Aaron Jones at his high number, and Ellis Merriweather.

-We have 4 safeties under contract:  Anthony Johnson Jr, Zayne Anderson, Tyler Coyle, and Zyon Gilbert.  Benny Sapp III is an ERFA and is also pretty easily retained.

-CB is:  Jaire, Valentine, Stokes, and the other Anthony Johnson.

We are deep at WR, TE, LB (at the moment), QB, and probably DL.  If we turn off injuries, we are probably good at OL as well.

I don't think we should be giving up 3 premium picks for 1 though.  Those 3 picks could be a safety, RB, and OL that play significant snaps in the next couple of seasons.  The top 10 guy is fun, but only fills one hole.  And looking at where we could use help, as well as the draft class, that is probably taking OT number 3 or 4, which probably fits the softest of our roster needs at the moment.

There are some pretty noteworthy holes on the roster based on players under contract for 2024 as you noted.

In my mind, you can't count on Stokes anymore.  If he comes back and is fine, that is a bonus.  But I'm looking at him as a lottery ticket.  That doesn't necessarily mean another first round investment is required, but there probably should be something reasonably early added to the CB room.  I would get Corey Ballentine back in pretty quick as well, I think he was a good value this season.

looking at this chart you'd be led to believe our needs are in the secondary, OL and RB.

and you'd be right

You don't like our QB room?

You have the guy that played the best second half of the season, and Matt Flynn Jr.  What more do you want?

We have QB. Clifford is a turd.

I like it. Good value on Nubin, great pick on Puni.

I'm guessing the top 4 corners were gone at 25?

Yes. Mitchell was #5 CB off the board in this one. I go back and forth between Mitchell and an OT on the board at 25, and hope either Nubin or Kinchens is still there at 41.
