No matter how many times fans hear someone from the inside say that they always draft the best player available, they are still going to base everything off of what the public believes is their needs. The Packers are going to draft the best player on their board regardless of position like they do every year.

Does Gute make the trade up for Watson if GB already has a deep WR room?  I very seriously doubt it.

Don’t remind me just how bad the Packers are historically in the first round except for QB. Couple other hits but ouch!

You forgot a guy from 2007.  Probably not very good though.

It's not really that much worse than other teams.  If you want something grim, look at the first round draft history with the Browns or Jets.

Rodgers, Love, Matthew, Raji, Walker, Alexander, Clark, Bulaga, Barnett, Hawk, Gary.

I'd say 11 of their 21 first round picks from 2000 to 2020 were hits. Could maybe make an argument for Franks too. If you're drafting, on average, in the back half of the draft and going about 50 percent in the first you should feel pretty good about what you're doing.

Perry wasn't bad either.  Not a great pick, but we have seen much worse.

I'd be more interested in seeing who falls to 58 or 88 than 41, but I'm in favor of a day 2 WR. Around 15 of the consensus top 60 players are WRs this year. Seems like a wasted opportunity to not get one in an otherwise weak draft.

We'll get a LB and S in FA and draft a CB, a RB and o-line depth anyway. I like Polk if he's there late 2.

Edit: those numbers are off memory, I could be wrong
