Think I've watched that piss missle from Love to Reed about 50 times today.

Can you confirm there was enough velocity on it?  Some have questions about Love's arm strength

Heh heh!  If I've got velocity concerns for Love, those concerns are NOT reinforced on that TD throw!  :):)

Certainly it's harder for a receiver to catch a velocity-rocket than a low-velocity rainbow, and there's more time to adjust to rainbows.  Maybe the low-velocity throws are intentional?   Trying to have Brees-caliber-touch?  Or maybe self-aware that since accuracy isn't that great, guys can adjust and make plays on variably-inaccurate rainbows?

That's what most refer to as arm talent.

Proper velocity based on the throw/ window/ situation.  Arcing it over a defender, while dropping the ball on the WR.

If every pass was a rocket with no touch or arc, defenders could tip more passes

Are there NFL advanced metrics that track the velocity and angle of throws the way MLB tracks exit velocity and angle on HR's?

There should be a parabola analysis for fly balls and football passes.  If not, a great thesis project for someone.

This past Vikings game was the best quarterbacked game that I've seen since the Cowboys game last year.

It was a real treat watching Love recognize the defense.  Set up his play, set up his blocking and flat out make the right read over and over again.

Then watching the skill guys absolutely ball out for him was fun as well.

The scary part is this...no way has the game slowed down that much for him.  It will slow down even more.

But going into Minnesota and playing that blitz heavy defense is not easy.  Both Love and MLF were ready for it and made them pay over and over again.

What you’re seeing is LaFleur’s offense the way it’s supposed to be run.

Reed and Melton and Doubs and Heath and Kraft and Musgrave and Watson.

This is why we don’t need that first round receiver. And why we shouldn’t get one. There’s a serious benefit to having a high number of serviceable to good receivers instead of one elite receiver.

If your QB gets too comfortable throwing to one guy, it shuts things down for everyone else.

We saw this with Rodgers. Big moments, he neglected open guys for his favorite guys. Favre commented on losing Sharpe being one of the best things to happen to him.

If Love continues spreading the ball around the way he has been, it’s going to be impossible to stop this offense next year.

And if we had a coordinator, you’d all see the benefit in all those first round defenders we’ve been taking.
