Soko
Fields is going to play his way into being the Bears’ 2024 QB and out of the top pick, and I’m here for it.

As long as the Panthers exist, the Bears don't have to worry about the top pick. Edited October 6, 2023 by notthatbluestuff

If Fields continues to play well, the Bears get what they want, don't they? Improvement. You think they drafted him hoping he'd suck so they can draft someone better? This thread: "haha Fields sucks!" *Fields starts to play better* "haha the Bears will keep him now and put more pieces around him!" In other words, there's nothing Fields can do to change people's minds now that they're already convinced he's terrible. He had a couple of good games, give the kid his flowers for now. nagahide13
They'll still draft Williams. Fields's whole problem is an inability to read defenses. A couple of games hitting his first read against terrible defenses isn't going to change people's minds. He'll probably play well over the next two games as well then fall off of a cliff again. Fields was 15-29 282yds 4tds. DJ Moore had 8 catches for 230 yards and 3 TDs. People will believe if they see him spread the ball out and start to his different reads.

That oline if you want to call it that in Carolina is terrible. And this is after watching Mac Jones look shook like a little kid vs that Dallas pass rush. I was wondering if Mac Jones hit his head at one point and was lost, or maybe he just don't know the playbook idk.

Oh, no - why stop there? Fields will get respect ONLY if he records 5 TD -0 INT against San Francisco (on the road, naturally) on SNF (regular 1pm games don't count as Kirk Cousins knows) WITH the playoffs on the line. While hurt. Those 5 TDs must ONLY be thrown to Equanimeous St. Brown (throwing to your WR1 doesn't count) and ONLY in situations where St. Brown is his 4th or even 5th read so as to sufficiently demonstrate the requisite processing expertise expected of NFL QBs. Further, those TDs must ONLY be in plays where St. Brown isn't too open (throwing to open receivers doesn't count) or isn't too covered (throwing into coverage is dumb and true QBs would never dream of doing such a thing). Only THEN will Fields receive a smidgeon of respect. Probably not even then.
evilpimp972
Well at least if he plays like that for the rest of the season you can trade him for more than a 3rd round pick Edited October 6, 2023 by evilpimp972

Wild that you think reading an NFL defense is a big ask for a QB
