The Cowboys are wearing white helmets as a throwback to their first season in 1960. That reminds me of a little known fact: The Dallas Cowboys were created purely out of spite. The NFL knew that AFL co-founder Lamar Hunt would put a team in his hometown of Dallas when the AFL started. The NFL wanted to place an expansion team in Dallas to take potential fans away from Hunt's team. So the Dallas Cowboys and Dallas Texans both started in 1960. The Texans would later move to Kansas City and be renamed the Chiefs.

It's sort of like Jerry Seinfeld's TV character when he returned an item out of spite because he didn't like the salesman who sold it to him and didn't want him to get the commission. "I'm sorry sir, we can't accept an item return purely out of spite."
