Eh you go after Parsons every time, he’s much faster than Lawrence. I’d rather push Parson outside and hope Geno sees the guy in front of him coming and makes a play.

Realistically they needed a quick pass behind a blitzer to be successful there.

No, you don't go rogue as an offensive lineman lol. That gets Geno lit up by Lawrence instead, who is closer, and has an inside path which is far harder to escape as a passer. Any protection scheme is going to prioritize the inside guys with a quicker route to the QB. Now, there were stupid things about how Seattle ran or called that. Would've made far more sense to move the protection right and have the RB get the guy on the offense's left, since that's where he was lined up. Or let an inside guy come and have the back have to pick up that if he blitzes. But it was not an error by the RT. What he did was what he should've done given how the other linemen and the back behaved. Poorly designed protection executed properly by the RT, not a mistake by the RT.

What you're suggesting is the equivalent of a DB saying, I don't care that everyone expects me to cover this guy, that other WR is better, so I should go cover him instead.

Blame the coach (or maybe the QB or C, I suppose) for the protection expecting the RB to cross the QB's face and block someone off the right edge. Or for not having a better outlet against pressure for Geno. But don't blame the RT, there.

Then why does everyone keep bringing it up? How is that impressive? Oh wait. It's the Cowboys. That's why. My bad.

If there was a sarcasm button / emoji I would of used it. Only person who finds that impressive is NFZ!

Gotta give this. They win the games where they outmatch the opponents.

Thats all you need to get into the playoffs with hype and flame out

  1. Referees turned a great game into an absolute clown fiesta with how many penalties they were calling. It seemed like they were desperately trying to keep Dallas in the game, and it worked. Some of those calls were just absolutely atrocious.
  2. Seattle's defense giving up 33(!!!!) first downs tonight is laughable. Clint Hurtt has to be fired after this year, there's just no excuse. Pete Carroll also needs to re-examine his defensive philosophy because he hasn't had a defense ranked in the top 10 in the past 5 years.
  3. That last play design by Shane Waldron is abysmal and just highlights how bad he can be sometimes. Called a great game for 3 quarters, but then just shat the bed completely.

I think Dak should be MVP right now, tbh.

If it's what the blocking scheme calls for, it's what you do. They had I think Kearse up on the line. RG had to be ready to take him if he blitzes. Means RT needs to take Lawrence. Parsons is the end guy, so if you have to leave someone unblocked or blocked by the RB, that's who it will be. It's on the RB and Geno to know that and adjust accordingly. You don't let Lawrence go unblocked, who is closer to the QB, because Parsons is scary.

Correct, no adjustments. Cowboys rushed 6 and Seattle had 6 (RB) + a tight end chip. Chip occurred on the left side, running back came late from the QB’s left and Parsons went unblocked. If you knew the tight end was going to chip the defender on the left, there should’ve been a shift (or hot route either the TE or the RB). The running back shouldn’t be the primary blocker for the edge rusher. It wasn’t really disguised, they sent everyone who they had lined up.
