The way you guys are talking about getting a QB will almost certainly be the only reason you win this week lol

That's what I'm worried about. The one year we have the worst QB and Coach combo in the league, we're somehow middle of the pack with our record. Blah.

That is the Raider way, it's honestly inevitable: never good enough to actually compete while never bad enough to land a true blue chip prospect.

Will the Allegiant Stadium be U.S. Bank Stadium v2.0 come Sunday when the Vikings take on the Raiders?

That's the prediction from ticket exchange and resale company Vivid Seats, whose "Fan Forecast" currently pegs Vikings fans as taking up 54% of the 65,000-capacity stadium.

It shouldn't be a surprise if there is a considerable sea of purple at Sunday's game considering visiting fans have regularly outnumbered home fans at the Allegiant. The Raiders haven't had much time to build up local support since the 2020 move from Oakland, while a trip to Las Vegas is always in high demand for traveling NFL fans.

Vikings fans historically travel well anyway, and Sunday marks the first time that the Vikings have played in Vegas since the Raiders moved from Oakland.

Unless we’re playing teams like the Jaguars, Chargers or Texans, games at Allegiant are anywhere between 25-50% road fans, and on occasion even more than that.

As this is the Vikings’ first visit to Vegas, you guys have a solid fanbase in general and the Raiders aren’t very good, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if there was more purple & gold than silver & black in the stands.

This is the price we regularly have to pay for the obvious benefits of the Vegas move.

Rookie Raiders quarterback Aidan O’Connell has performed admirably since Antonio Pierce elevated him to the starting role over Jimmy Garoppolo, but there’s enough to suggest he could have a miserable time going up against Brian Flores’s defense.

O’Connell hasn’t been great under pressure this season, ranking 11th among qualifying quarterbacks with a 57.7 passer rating. While O’Connell’s 84.3 passer rating when clean is 37th among 39 qualifying quarterbacks, he’s also had difficulty against the blitz, as his 73.6 passer rating ranks 10th.

This plays into the hands of the Vikings' defense. Danielle Hunter continues to rank fourth in the NFL with 13.5 sacks this season, and he could be going up against an offensive line that could be without left tackle Kolton Miller.

Minnesota also hasn’t stopped blitzing, as Flores’s defense still has the highest blitz rate in the league at 47.6 percent.

Put it together, and the Vikings' pass rush could have a field day on Sunday afternoon.

Oh yes it will be. Oh and if you see a bunch of black hats the rodeo is in town so that's not Raider gear. lol   AVN coming soon too bad they won't be there but many live there as I see many 'professionals' at the gym and shopping. Add the tourists there for a good time and Sin City sucks when you're in a relationship. lol   =P

what were those?

Primarily in terms of becoming a more attractive proposition as a franchise; to draft picks, free agents, coaches, executives.

A new stadium allows the team to generate significantly more revenue than it did in Oakland. The Raiders were always cash poor (in relative NFL terms) which meant we struggled to afford free agents and the higher end coaches.

Free agents also didn’t want to come and play in the dilapidated old Coliseum and its baseball field either. As much character as it had where we had a genuine home advantage, the place was a crumbling wreck.

A state of the art training facility (which was never going to happen in California either) is a draw. As are the tax benefits of living in Nevada compared to California.

The Raiders have definitely lost some of their soul and identity in moving to Las Vegas, but the franchise is still in a better place overall because of it.

yes, the MN facilities are rated as top notch by the players, and it definitely adds a draw to bringing in an outsider, plus promoting a positive culture among the players who buy in.

i understand what you're saying about losing some identity because of the move, we got to stay in place and enhance ours!

Interesting post, however I feel just looking at numbers gives a bit of a false feeling. McDaniels admitted that he didnt change anything about the protections or help the rookie out at all when he started against the Chargers (the game where Mack had 5 or 6 sacks I think it was), they basically threw him out there and let him sink.

Since AP has been coach they have adjusted stuff and he’s coming along slowly and whilst he still will find it tough against the likes of Hunter and the amount of blitzing, I think the offence is now much better equipped to cope. O’Connell is still basically a statue back there and the Vikings have some great pass rushers so you’ll have success but I do t think it’ll be the carnage it was earlier in the season 😁

they'll be plenty of blitzing, that's guaranteed, yes. but it's also the disguising of defensive sets that a less experienced opposing QB has to deal with that may be the bigger problem.
