Mazrimiv
I will be genuinely impressed if the Barry defense has anything for the SF offense. SF is just on a different level.

SF is just on a different level. Stopping the Niners will up to our offense as much as it is up to our defense. A look back at the 2019 NFCCG game is a good lesson. We were down 27-0 at half in that game, which on paper screams "we did really bad on defense." While that's true in part, it was also the result of doing absolutely nothing on offense when we had the ball. Depending on who gets the kickoff, typically there are only about 6, maybe 7 possessions in the first half. It is absolutely critical our offense makes 2 or 3 of those possessions count, gets some points, and at the very least, controls some clock. That's the difference between a 21-0 halftime score and a 17-14 halftime score where we keep ourselves in it. Every stop (or even FG) forced by our defense will be a bonus. Love and the offense have to stay hot for us to have a chance. Edited January 16 by packfanfb

If you can get the latter the former will take care of itself.

The DL has not been playing at the same level and their secondary can be had. The problem, of course, is that this SF offense is far more talented than the ones seen in those other two games and there won't be frigid cold to help slow down the passing attack. And both teams special teams are an adventure right now. Edited January 16 by Striker

If there's any rust there to be had, it's now. Next week I think the Niners roll over either the Lions or Bucs.
Mazrimiv
BAL and SF are the two clear best teams. Going to take a special performance to prevent either from reaching the SB.
