Kind of funny that the poll of who we "want" has 20 names, and the first guy reported to interview for the job isn't on it.

total oversight on my part. Would have for sure included him over a lot of names but slipped my mind!

they'll both need to sit out at least one year if they want to be HC again

not sure either will ever get a HC gig again. They're both at the point where they could land support roles, however, if they want them. We'll see if their egos can handle that.

Barry and Staley are both examples of the Peter Principle. Staley was a very good DC and Barry is an outstanding LBers coach, both just got promoted to a level they couldn't handle. It happens all the time in every industry, doesn't mean they can no longer be productive at a lesser level.

That's waaaaay before my time, but our facilities inside the stadium are called the Russ Young Football Complex.

Yeah, I'm really old. Remember Alex I. an assistant coach who came later? Cool guy!

Agree, I'd be shocked if the Packers agreed to bring in BB.  He'd overshadow the organization.  It would be too much.  You'd get him for a year or two and then what?  He'd be bigger status wise than MLF, Gute and Murphy.  Not ideal for the organization.  Yes, it sounds great but would cause problems in meetings and communications.  Just having that guy in a team meeting room would be awkward.  Great Coach, just too much for the organizational flow.

The Bellicheck talk here is absolutely ridiculous. Dude isn't taking a DC job and it's absolutely ridiculous to suggest it's even worth considering. I doubt he's even interested in a HC job unless he can do it his way. There is no reason for him to take anything less, unless it's basically a retirement/consulting type role with a team. I'm sure he would like to chase that record but he also wants to do it HIS way.
