He must really respect the franchise. Listening to him glowingly talk about OSU and the "right way" I bet this felt like a good cultural fit for him.

Plus, MLF would, all else being equal, love to grow his super buddies club in GB. Definitely a social aspect to the hire (which can be positive).

I think you are going to see more college HCs bailing down the road to the NFL.  College football is a lot less coaching and more portal and raising money these days.  It's a mess.
