AFlaccoSeagulls
I hate how everyone expects every thing to be a dynasty now, and if they weren't they weren't good. Like, the guy won 2 Superbowls, that's incredibly hard to do. Not every franchise is the Chiefs or Patriots.
StatKing
I swear you guys make these threads just to give me a reason to hate on the Shanahans even more.
Kiwibrown
There we 29 other teams trying to win to. Elway wasn't even the best qb at the time either. Young, Farmer, maybe Marino a head of him.

Xenos
1. Winning SBs is hard. 2. It’s harder when you don’t have an elite QB like Elway anymore. Best QB after Elway retired was probably Plummer and he was merely good. 3. It’s even harder to win when Peyton Manning is in the same conference as you and you seem to always face him somehow in playoffs. Surprisingly, I think Mike had better luck against Brady and Belichick.
Kiwibrown
The totality of their offense Elite players 1. TD 2. Sharpe 3. ?Portis 4. Offensive line. McCaffery and Smith were good not elite. Elway had elite talent not results.

Are they stupid?
BullsandBroncos
He didn't write the checks that the Hunts, Reid's, and Mahomes families do.
ronjon1990
I mean......are we not going to point out how many of the assistants named came at the end of his run in Denver or were up-and-comers in Washington, where Dan Snyder's meddling derailed any hope of a renaissance for Mike? Following Elway's last Superbowl, Mike had the Broncos in the mix quite often, in a division with Gruden's early Raiders and prime LT Chargers, plus a conference with Tom and Bill. Peyton and Dungy, Big Ben and Cowher..... Winning 2 Superbowls isn't the handwave it's being made out to be. Of the active HCs today, only 1 has more than a single ring- Reid- and he only has 2 himself as of today- both with a HOF QB who could easily go down as one of the best ever. Of the other 30 HCs right now, 6 have a lone ring at all- John Harbaugh, Tomlin Payton, Pederson, McCarthy, and McVay. Only Tomlin and McVay from that group even made a second Superbowl appearance. Bill and Tom skewed the norm way out of whack.
7DnBrnc53
I don't really think he cared that much anymore after Elway retired. Pat Bowlen should have let him go to Florida in 2002 to replace Spurrier.

But, Mike came on board saying that hiring Bruce Allen to help him navigate the cap and contracts was a “non-negotiable.” Snyder was more than happy to hire someone connected to the glory days of the Redskins, so he agreed to it. It just so happened that Allen ingratiated himself more with Snyder, and ended up stabbing Mike in the back during the process, as seen during Snyder’s increase in exerting his influence at the end of Mike’s tenure. Probably why he never returned to coaching after that.

Unless you have 7 rings you SUCK and you're a LOSER Brady is the standard now, prior to Brady, it was Montana and Bradshaw, now Brady is the standard and Mahomes is under pressure to catch up or even surpass Brady in SB wins......which is possible since he is still in his prime.
