I have plenty of confidence in our OL staff as they are top-3 in the league, but we had a chance to draft an impact player that would've fit Hafley's defense immediately. There's 2 teams in the first right behind the Packers who have been rumored to be very high on him. Sounds like if you wanted him this is where you take him Just now, CWood21 said: I mean, if you're drafting a backup OT in the first round you're doing something wrong. They clearly view him as a starting IOL. Or a starting tackle...

They still have that chance based on how this draft is unfolding. Edited April 26 by Striker
badgers0821
I love how we all think we are smarter than guys who have done this for decades and get paid for it. I stopped being upset about their draft picks years ago.
MacReady
Only explanation is DeJean’s leg injury is a cause for concern. Everything about DeJean suggests Packers no brainer.
Uffdaswede
Hmmm… maybe we scooped Dallas’ guy. They went OT also

PossibleCabbage
Just now, MacReady said: Everything about DeJean suggests Packers no brainer. Only if you actually think he's a safety. Like Halfley wants to play press-man and DeJean is much better with his eyes on the QB than in a trail position. It's possible they had the discussion "can he play safety in this defense week 1" and decided "no."

So I was quoting someone who had said someone thought Love was a reach....apples and oranges due to positional comparison...

Dallas Turner fell for medical reasons FWIW. Personally, I don't think DeJean fits Hafley's defense at all.
