Trentwannabe
Darnold was always going to be the sacrificial baby to start the season, but man this sucks for McCarthy. Hopefully nothing too serious or that lingers.
JaguarCrazy2832
I hate this, no matter how much I think he is overrated, I still want him to be healthy.
dll2000
That sucks. At least it happened in a year where they want him to sit and watch anyway.

Tank4Drake
That’s a shame. It looked like he could be good this year and his rawness was overblown.
Dr LBC
2 hours ago, RaidersAreOne said: For reference, the timeframe for complete meniscus repair is Irv Smith from 2021; suffered the injury September 1st, had complete repair surgery, and missed the entire season. The timeframe for meniscus trimming is Nuk Hopkins' current knee injury from August 1st where he's projected to miss 4-6 weeks, and is presently "hopeful" for the start of the season after meniscus trimming surgery.
MWil23
I’ve had the meniscus trimmed/cut out multiple times. I wish they could have repaired it even if it meant doubling my recovery time.

The term, and idea of, "meniscus trimming" gives me the chills.
Xmad
Take the long term recovery process, let Darnold go to the wolves and come back fully health next season. Maybe Darnold resurrects his career and is a solid trade asset, maybe you tank and get a great pick to build around McCarthy. Don't risk his long term health for a rushed and potential re-injury his rookie season.
NudeTayne
Most likely explanation he's faking the injury to force his way to the Chargers. Heard it from Pretty Rickey so
SodeeWater_Cheezburger
Vikings fans today: Sorry to hear this news, Vikings fans. He was off to a great start. Hopefully, this will just be a slight speed bump on the road to a very successful career. Hang in there!
