They were not the same. Barry does this. His idea/scheme suck. We get gashed. Then MLF comes in and they run more aggressive stuff and turn it around. And? Seems this strong-at-end was true in late Pettine years, too. I admit I'm hesitant to assume MLF is coming in and pushing more aggressive stuff. Isn't the soft zone prevent MLF's central defensive philosophy? No idea what the exchange of ideas is on that. But I assume MLF is part of the prevent philosophy. Some works, some doesn't. He talks to players again and preaches DO YOUR JOB. You gotta play zone sometimes, so play it well and then we can add more aggressive stuff. I don't get it .. maybe this is exactly what LaFleur wants .. a pushover DC that lets him get involved when he wants. I would rather he had a guy that ran something more aggressive and had a knack for changing things up during games. It seems once we start getting gashed it doesn't stop quickly enough.
